changing my TV from regular mode to video mode without a remote?
I broke the remote to the TV in my bedroom now I can't change to video mode to wtach DVDs
it's a cheap Emerson TV
any ideas how to do this withotu gettign the remote repalced, thewre's not a button on the TV to change the mode

You know, there was one odd instance to which I was plugging A/V Cables in the back of my old JVC Television, one time I insterted them a bit too hard and the Input of the television changed from Video 1 to Video 2... Maybe you could try that? Seems like a ghetto way. But hey...

You could pick up a universal remote that has Emerson codes programmed in it.

You don't have a VCR, DVD player, receiver, DVR, etc remote anywhere in the house that can also be used to control a TV? Even my 10 year old mono VCR has a remote that can control my TV.
