That was a pretty good episode, very heartfelt towards the end.

Drunk Joy was hilarious.

Randy
(I may not have it exact):

"Look, someone buried a pair of shoes. Oh, its a cat skeleton. We should name it Crackers after our cat that ran away. "

LATER:

"# 67: Ran over Crackers. What kind of crackers? Were they Ritz? I bet it made a crunching sound."

I think the other guy's brother plays Howie on "Joey".

It was cool to see Bullock from Deadwood as this guy. Mano "why" mano.

I recognized him instantly from THE SAFETY OF OBJECTS which I had just viewed. The "mano y mano" line was funny.

It was "the one that slept in the street"

I guess we know that Timothy Olyphant is filming Deadwood at the same time as this episode.

It's funny this show is mentioned. I just saw them filming in Van Nuys near the courthouse.

This episode definitely broke MNIE out of a slump with a vengence. Drunken Joy was great.

Anyone else was thinking "dirty thoughts" when Joy asked Randy to stay the night?

That was the point. All the camera angles were intentional to make you think they were having sex/getting a bj, etc.

Loved the cat bits. As well as the snake-dog.

Let me rephrase it, I know that was their intention, that's why I found the ending surprising and emotional.

At least, I'm glad that they are making Joy to be more than a one dimensional character.

Aww, Joy has a heart for her kids. I still liked seeing her drunk better.

"We promise not to call you."
"Wouldn't answer if you did."

Funny how Earl & Randy stole the Mother's Day gift then got all pissed when it was a book of coupons to do chores. Then went to get breakfast in bed and never came back.

I liked Catalina's line about her mother being dead. "It was her or me"

Later on in the episode she is cleaning their room. What was she doing? Was she putting some sort of trap under their bed or something? I didn't really get was going on there.

They definately need to put her in it more.

The drag race with the cars crapping out at the end was great as well.

I assumed she was placing mouse traps under there, hence all of the snapping.

"Five!" was too predictable & fell flat with me, but "Four!" was like a rolling laugh. As I was laughing, it actually got funnier to me & I couldn't stop laughing. That's pretty rare.

For some reason the series of photos with Earl's eyes always shut, Randy asking about Crackers, & Joy trying to find the straw were all howlers.

Great, great episode.

Am I the only one who thought that guy did in fact look a bit like an owl? Was that intentional?

I just cannot believe that nobody has yet mentioned the sight of Catalina leaning over the pool table. Sheesh!

I was expecting it to still be four, so five caught me off guard

"Earl? Do snakes have hair?"

"They do when they're ferrets!"

(EDIT: I'm hoping that, one of these days, Beau Bridges has a scene in which he is sleeping, and suddenly wakes up, shouting "Close the iris!" or some other line associated with Stargate.)

Very funny stuff and very touching at the end. I stand by my feelings that this doesn't have to be an LOL show all the time, it can be a lighthearted look at trying to make yourself better.
