Better BSG Season: 1 or 2?

Since the season 2 finale was last week, I thought this would be a good time to measure the quality.

I think Season 2 was far better.

Season 1, but probably just because it was so original.

I'm slanted towards S1. Mostly because I watched them all nearly back-to-back and S2 was much more drawn out as I watched them live.

Season 1. Not quite as much boring filler like the stretch in the middle of 2.5.

I voted season 1. And I will admit right now that is a little unfair. And here's why!:

In season 1 I was learning about everybody. Seeing how they work, their ticks, trying to figure out the Cylon agenda. Seeing the ships in action, etc. I loved watching Season 1.

Season 2 was great as well. But it doesnt have that sense of discovery, the feeling of newness since I already know everybody and everything. So now it's just up to the writing and the story that they lay out before me.

If it wasn't for that 2-3 episode 'frack-up' that even Ron Moore says needed alot of work I think they would be equal.

Regardless of which season is 'better', I'm already chomping at the bit for Season 3.
