I won't quibble with the "recommended" rating on The Real Ghostbusters, but I think the sets deserve a bit more love than the reviews are giving.

Looks like two of the three have been reviewed. I gladly bought all three releases. While the source material is indeed a bit rough, it is very watchable. I didn't see anything wrong with the animation, and nothing looked too dated to me. I always liked the look of this show, at least in its first two seasons. As for color, they all seem rather bright and vibrant, looking more "real" than "cartoony." As for the sound, if anything, it may be a bit too deep, or too much bass, I'm not sure, but it's OK.

All the episodes on these releases are from the first two seasons - four each, 12 in all, three from the first, nine from the second. They were the best seasons of the show. There were a lot of interesting stories and ideas in this series. Upon reading the episode descriptions, I remembered all of them immediately. I don't see any duds on these discs, not even the Slimer-centric ones.

Sure, season sets would have been nice, but as someone who really got into this show when it was on TV, I'm glad just to have any of it to be able to watch again.
