Is the Rock or Traffic Criterion a good blind buy used?
I've found a copy of The Rock CC used, for $20. Always heard it was a great movie, but for some reason I've never seen it yet. Appears to be in OK shape but not mint. Also, what about the new release of Traffic CC. Would get it for about $30, but for that much I'm thinkin about holding off since I haven't seen it yet.

As always, it comes down to tastes. I know people who absolutely hated Traffic, they thought it was boring or whatever. Ditto for The Rock. If you've seen and liked Armageddon (or other Michael Bay films), then you shouldn't have a problem with it. Personally, I love Traffic (my favorite of 2000) and enjoyed The Rock for what it was...

The Rock CC is a bit better than the single-disc version because of the extras and the fairly enthralling DTS track.
Haven't seen the Traffic Criterion release. You might want to rent the single-disc version first before shelling out the $$$ for the CC to see if you do like the film.
