Arctic Monkeys are huge in the uk where they are from, they have loads of hype..

The first album from indie band Arctic Monkeys has become the fastest-selling debut album in UK chart history.
Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not was released on 23 January and has sold more than 360,000 copies.

It's been largely underwhelming here. This appearence should definatly help. I've only sold maybe 5 copies since the release in my store. Other stores I've talked to in my area have similar results. The album isn't great, but a little SNL exposure should help.

I went over to iTunes and previewed a few of Arctic Monkeys' songs. They have a lot in common with the Goo Goo Dolls...

ALL OF THEIR SONGS SOUND THE SAME!

Isnt the lead singer, like 18 years old?

I liked the album, maybe because I cant stand the Cali emo punk crap, and this satisfies my need for vag punk.

The Podcast skit... was that actually Amy Adams or was that an SNL member playing her Junebug character?

Thanks. I'm not familiar with the cast, but it seems she was doing an imitation of the character from Junebug - which I thought was well done... unless that was just a coincidence.

i haven't gotten any of the hype for the arctic monkeys since they debuted huge in britain, but good christ do they suck. although i do like the fact that they are young kids trying to rock, and they'll probably eventually put out a decent album.
