Awesome. This beats the similar sale over at Digital Eyes.

Ugh...I paid 26 bucks for Robocop trilogy at DDD last week. Do they do price match?

The Errol Morris collection is a good score!

I was just about to shell out $13.78 for Gates of Heaven alone...

The Errol Morris collection is. One of the best sets I own for sure.

I am probably not going to be able to turn down this Woody Allen Collection (the one with Another Woman, Shadows and Fog, etc.) again and will be forced to order. This Ingmar Bergman thing is difficult too, I already have Persona and Shame. Arrrrgh.

I like Woody Allen, but I hate that all his movies have mono sound. At least, all the ones I have.

Thanks Op! I picked up the Robocop Trilogy. It comes up as a pre-order which is kind of wierd. I might go back for something else later on too.

On that link page, all of them, as far as I could tell, have the release date as 3/24... While DDD has great prices, it's also the strangest site with their dates. I order a movie that's been out for a few years and yet it's been pre-ordered and won't ship till later this month.

That's a great set. I wish they had the First Person set on sale.

Some look tempting but all have release date of 3/24. I wonder if these are having a price drop with the new release date and DDD is just using the old MSRP to make it look like alot more off?

It's possible, sure, but the banner does say "For a Limited Time - Promotion Ends 3/24/06" - A lot of people thought that the Criterion Collection was receiving a price drop, but then the sale ended at all the online retailers... Also, many times the release date doesn't really mean anything (in instances like this - ie. in the Elite sale, many of my titles (and others as well) shipped immediately rather than on the day they had listed as the release date.

For the King set, are the Dark Half and Needful Things good blind buys?

Decent enough adaptations if you like King's work, but beware: Dark Half is pan and scan only, which is why I'm staying away from the set til it gets a proper OAR treatment.

Anybody have any opinions on the Bergman set? I haven't seen any of these films, but I love The Seventh Seal and Wild Strawberries. I've read reviews on various sites, but they are somewhat scattered. Any opinions would be appreciated greatly.

Couldn't pass up the Bergman box for that price. I've been holding off for a very long time, anyway, and just happened to be in a spending mood.

Needful Things also has an extended director's version that would be nice to have, so you may want to wait on that as well...

Well, Bergman is not for everybody. His films are methodical, lyrical and sometimes slow as molasses. If you liked The Seventh Seal and Wild Strawberries, chances are that you will enjoy this set but this collection as a whole is definitely some of his more dour, opaque efforts with at least one absolute masterpiece, Persona, included.
