ROB ZOMBIE’S NEW STUDIO RECORDING "EDUCATED HORSES" TO BE RELEASED MARCH 28th

Hollywood, California, January 26, 2005 - Fresh off the major success of his latest feature film, "The Devil's Rejects," Rob Zombie is returning this spring to his first passion - music - playing it live and loud. Zombie has finished recording his third solo studio CD, "Educated Horses" (Geffen Records).

Zombie is the longest active artist on Geffen Records, having been on the label for over 15 years.

Additionally, Rob is the most prolific Geffen Artist when it comes to Gold and Platinum discs - his seven is the most total number by any Geffen artist solely on the merit of their Geffen output.

* La Sexorcisto: Devil Music, Vol. 1 (1992) - US 2x Platinum
* Astro Creep: 2000 - (1995) - US 3x Platinum
* Supersexy Swingin' Sounds – the Astro-Creep remixes (1996) - US Gold
* Hellbilly Deluxe (1998) - US 3x Platinum
* American Made Music to Strip By – the Hellbilly remixes (1999) - US Gold
* The Sinister Urge (2001) - US Platinum
* Past, Present & Future – greatest hits compilation (2003) - US Gold

Zombie is now gearing up for The "Educated Horses Tour". The tour is scheduled to start March 17th in Jacksonville, Florida and hit 27 cities before concluding five weeks later in Mesa, Arizona (full list of tour stops follows). Joining Rob on this tour will be guitarist John 5 (ex-Marilyn Manson), longtime bassist Blasko and drummer Tommy Clufetos (ex-Alice Cooper & Ted Nugent). Supporting act for the tour will be goth metal band Lacuna Coil.

"Educated Horses" was produced by Zombie and long time producer Scott Humphrey (Metallica, Motley Crue), who together also produced the platinum hits Hellbilly Deluxe and The Sinister Urge. Other musicians contributing to the CD are Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Vandals) and Tommy Lee. The album's debut single, the anthemic "Foxy Foxy," will begin play on Modern Rock and Active Rock radio on February 13th.

Zombie, a prolific video director in his own right having directed over twenty five videos, will direct the video for “Foxy Foxy” in Los Angeles in mid-February. Zombie will re-team with The Devil’s Rejects cinematographer Phil Parmet. Parmet has also worked on Led Zeppelin’s “The Song Remains The Same” and Frank Zappa’s “Baby Snakes”.

I don't know. The single "Foxy Foxy" sounds way too poppy for Zombie. His sound has become more radio friendly since Hellbilly Deluxe. I wish he would go back to that type of sound.

Yeah, I'm all for someone progressing with their sound, but the newer RZ stuff is shit when compared to the brutal sonic assaults of "Astro Creep 2000" and "Hellbilly Deluxe". He really seems to have lost the fire for music....but found some inspiration for movies (I loved both his films).

I just heard "Foxy Foxy" and based on that single I won't be buying this album. I wasn't too impressed with the last album, but is gold compaired to this song.

He should stick to the movies.

If "Foxy, Foxy" is representative of the rest of the album, you can count me out. I got into Rob (and White Zombie) for their machine-like horror metal, not this silliness. I don't know what the hell this is... sounds like he's trying to do some kind of mellow 70's Alice Cooper thing... with cleaner vocals, too.

And he doesn't even say "YEAH!", not once!

I don't know about the album, I'll have to hear some samples first. I will be seeing him when he rolls into Denver, though.

You can listen to another song on his myspace page called "Let It All Bleed Out".

http://www.myspace.com/robzombie

It might be on his official site as well.

The single turned you guys off? The title alone made me suspicious, but it's deceptive. "Let It All Bleed Out" is a total 180 from "Foxy Foxy".

That's radio for ya..

The vid for the song is pretty good, (and being that his wife is hotter then hell probably helped that fact, since i am not that big a fan of the song)

I've heard the whole thing. So far I'm not that impressed compared to his last few albums.

Damn it, we wait how many years for a 35 minute(ish) album? I did not like his last album because it was too short now this one is too short as well. WTF! Rob, pick one or the other buddy music or movies.

I miss White Zombie!

Run time is 38:30.

And of course, once again, he had to use his movie song to fill in time on this CD.

Wasn't his last album pretty short as well? Considering what people are paying for cd's these days, you'd think artists would at least try to make it worthwhile. I'll have to see how well the songs sound live before thinking of purchasing this.

Saw Rob at Ozzfest this summer, had me excited about his new album, guess I'll have to dig out some old school Zombie for my fix.

BTW, is the album title some kind of inside joke or just really lame?

Yeah, its not nearly as evil-sounding as the last few titles.

Almost sounds like it should be a country album.

Educated Horses is what the circus people used to call the regular folks or something like that. I heard Zombie talking about it on the radio.

Ah, a circus reference, I see. Thanks for keeping it real Rob.
