In Her Shoes
I was surprised that there was not already a thread about this in Movie Talk.
I remember this getting decent reviews when it came out then quickly disappeared. Having seen it last night on DVD I can say that it was one of the best movies of last year with some great writing and some stellar performances. I think this was one of those rare gems that was
mis-marketed and slipped away.
Anyone have thoughts on this movie?

This was probably the most underrated film I saw last year. I agree with you in that it was mis-marketed. You may think it is a chick flick, but it isn't.
I thought Cameron Diaz did her best work in years in this movie, especially at the end.
Shirley McClaine was wonderful and while I was disappointed she didn't get an Oscar nomination, I can't really complain about the 5 that were.
Norman Lloyd was terrifc as the Professor. Hard to believe he's 92 years old.
I'll have to buy this on DVD.

I wasn't a fan, I saw this movie amid speculation it was "more" than a chick flick.
It wasn't. The acting, writing, and directing were solid, but felt empty in the end.

I saw it a few weeks after it opened and I LOVED it. I had posted the trailer in another thread before it came out.
