DVD Talk review of 'All the President's Men - 2 Disc Special Edition'
I read Gil Jawetz's DVD review of All the President's Men - 2 Disc Special Edition at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=20250 and...
Hey Gil,
Mostly, I agree with your assessment of the film itself. But, and it is a very big but, how come you did not write even one word about the marvelous script by Mr. William Goldman? How come you attribute so much of the films success to Pakula and Willis without giving credit to the guy who adapted the expansive book into a tight screenplay?

You're totally right. I started to write a section on that but I got distracted or something and never did it. The script is absolutely masterful. I'll go back and put down some thoughts on that as well. Thanks for the kick in the pants!

Felt, Woodstein, and Bradlee would have all been great. Also, opposition commentaries, like Liddy or somebody like that. And maybe political analysis from some journalist or some other third party source. It's still a great disc, however, but those would have been amazing.
