I left out Lisa Tucker and Kellie Pickler from the poll to see which girl will be going home.
Last year, two girls and two guys were kicked out after this stage. Does anybody know if this is still the case this year?

For the next 3 weeks on Thursday nights, the bottom 2 females and 2 males will be sent home. So in 3 weeks, that finally gets us to the final 12. That means Fox is milking AI for another 14 weeks (counting this week).

They changed to this format because the people whe sang in week 1 were not seen until the final 12, and that made it unfair in the first couple of BIG 12 votes.

Two girls are going home tonight, but we can only vote for one so I picked Brenna. She doesn't seem all that talented, and has been pretty much profiled as "The Bitch" on the show thus far.
Other potential eliminees are Heather Cox, Kinnik Sky, Melissa McGhee, and Stevie Scott...simply because they haven't been shown much in comparison to the other contestants.
My personal favorite, based on what we've seen so far, is Mandisa. I like her voice, her stage presence, and her personality.

I can't tell if she's in the right key or all that singing termonology that judges talk about, but this is some male layman's opinion of what went down tonight. This is my guilty pleasure.
Simon said in an interview that there's only about 3 people in this whole competition who could actually make it. Tons of people I guess made it cause *cough* female looks *cough* and personality just for television, so let's see if we can pick out the 3. So here's my live play by play from me, and this is live, so I type before judges talk before they sway my opinion.
Top 12 girls:
Mandisa :: "Never." (Heart)
They play with the sympathy card, which because it was a weight issue and the demographic of the show, she could suck for the next 3 weeks and still FLY to the final 12.
Very meh for me, I actually thought she'll go top 3 because she's a powerhouse singer and can belt shit out. She went the dancy francy route. She dropped a bit in my book as I thought she'd be like a Latoya London power singer. But because of the story and pimp slot, she'll fly right though tonight. Her potential hasn't been set yet.
Kellie :: "How Far." (Martina McBride)
Same with Mandisa, if I had her backstory I could even make it to to the final 12. I hate, hate her. She'll get a massive following, but she's already overrated. She proved that here and she will be a stun vote with her falling around spot 8 or 9ish.
Becky :: "Because the Night." (Patti LaBelle)
Decent I guess, it's a little early but that was very forgettable, if it wasn't for her looks she could be a goner. I wrote all that before the judges, but Simon said what I was thinking. She's a 10 for looks, but decent with the vocals. Unless more girls suck, she'll get passed by her looks, but will be gone next week.
I was sidetracked the whole entire time because my god, Brenna has some fantastic boobies. I was just hoping they'd just shoot up to the cheesy, fake, have to move because I'm on television balcony with the other girls dancing because she has a great top showing it off.

The girl with everything handed to her on a golden platter, I think even her dad is a mayor if I remembor correctly with the auditions.
God, I wanted to hate her. I thought she would be more fit for the dunk competition last weekend in the all-star weekend than this, but I was semi-impressed. She's pretty good. I think she's a lock for the top 12 now. She did crack that final note though.
Paris :: "Midnight Train to Georgia."
Here is the one that all have been waiting for, she has a massive following and due so after her audition. She was average at best in hollywood but she came back here. It's obvious now that she's one of the 3 that Simon talked about.
Her vocals didn't impress me at all, but that wasn't the point here as we know she has them, but it was if she would be a simple wooden female like most. She obvoiously got coached here, cause her personality within here was amazing, don't know if that's natural or not, but she stood out. By the way, she has the sexiest talking voice ever, she could read the bible on stage and still make it to the final 12 because her talking voice is so sweet and nice that you just want to go up there and hug her (and when she turns a year older, give her the high hard one). She'll be the top vote for sure, unless that McPhee or whatever has a great showing.
Stevie :: "To Where You Are." (Josh Gracin)
Wow, even if she'd have massive camel toe action going on, I'd still forget about her tonight.
Bland as can be, she's a goner. And no camel toe either.... blah, a wasted 3 min. Yeah, judges agree, good riddance.

If she was fucken 400 pounds and black or her dad was in jail and had a backstory, Paula would be on her feet and saying she is a top runner. Watch this girl, nobody knows her, but shit she is on a path to be top 5. Remember Clarkson never had camera time until this either. Remember her name.

Judges agree with me, I knew she would good, but not that good, she is another golden child and for good reason. For the first round you need to show a personality, to get a fan base, they all have HIGH PAID people coaching them. Well because of tonight, if they do, they need to be fired, my god.
She did what I thought Mandisa would be this year, the singer. If you notice most of the females tonight the background will go or even dominate the song, not her, I honestly don't remember thinking back of that, it was all her.

Randy with the ghetto talk, don't understand half the fucken non-sense he puts out, it's all a bit, he's in the middle, paula is the cheerleader, simon is the devil, it's all worked out and people buy it like they do pro wrestling, it's all a work. People at home just see that and chuckle a bit over that, but my god there is a HUGE story behind all of this, this isn't some random show, these girls are coached to hell, they spend i'd guess $10,000 a week or so to coach them, not only their song choice but how they should be on television. Before she sang she was going to say that, this is make or break, this is honestly the biggest moment on a life that 98% of us that are on this forum will NEVER do, make that 99.99%, nobody is watched with 30+ million people. Ace will go far cause of his looks, but they need to say he's married with 4 kids, then all the female votes won't be dedicated to him, cause you know that fucker will go far. And as a male, i'm just waiting for some shit to be dug up on him, no male should look that pretty, he is a detriment to the whole male population, nobody looks as good as him, so if he was shot tomorrow I wouldn't shed a tear.

So far, Mandisa is way out ahead. Other thing I would change is the name. Little too manly. Needs to be softened up. The country girl was off-key and the hot chick is just hot. So blah. She gets along on her looks and she'll probably get so far before she gets the boot.
This year, the judges are letting many good-looking people through on their looks with only passable voices.

The black girls, so far, are the bomb. Paris did great. Really pulled people into her performance.
Other girl, Ayla, seems like she should be doing broadway instead.

Wow, Simon threw Stevie under the bus. I think the song choice was brave but misguided given the opportunity given to her at the first big-time audition for America's votes. I think she's got a decent radio quality voice, but staying in the falsetto key throughout the backend of the song just didn't do it for me either.

Oh God, so far everyone suck except Mandisa. Even then, there was some part of the song Mandisa sang I didn't like. I still prefer the original version by Heart.
