2 Fast 2 Furious (WS) w/ Senitype?

I'm kind of baffled. A regular walked into work tonight (Hollywood) and traded in about $35 worth of DVD's. One of which was a WS edition of "2 Fast 2 Furious". I popped it open to check the discs condition, per trade in regulations, and inside was a limited edition numbered senitype?! He also traded in a Fullscreen version of the film, which didn't include the senitype or Mitsubishi insert.

Anywho, I finished his trade in transaction, and once he left the store, I bought the disc for $7.50 w/ my discount. I called up my girlfriend to do some research, but to no avail.

FWIW, the senitype is of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder, senitype #145,059/225,000.

Anyone know the origins of this neat little bonus?

Was it a Best Buy exclusive thing? I remotely remembered Best Buy offering some kind of exclusive with 2F2F when it came out.

That's affirmative. I wasn't sure if they were specially marked, or where they were made available, but the UPC's match.

All I remember is Target offering the bonus disc, which I owned at one point.

From what I understand, it's just a film cell with a blown up pic of whta's on the film cell. I got the same thing in my "LE" release of Perfect Storm. Man, what a godawful huge box that came in.

The Senitype™ is an art graphic produced from a single frame of motion picture film and includes one frame of the corresponding film footage. The Artwork began with the careful selection of a single frame of film that is digitally scanned and expertly reproduced onto art paper using intricate state-of-the-art imaging and printing techniques. The film footage is an actual 35-millimeter film frame reproduced form the original motion picture film by master film technicians.
