Fill in my Collection: 80's style

Top 3 Bands: The Who, Wilco, The Band

I love rock, jazz, blues folk. I own pretty much every seminal album from 1960-78 or so. I own a few 80s albums by bands like the meat puppets, sonic youth, the replacements, talking heads; but currently have a huge gap in my collection. I am asking the forum to recommend to me the most important albums of the 80s rock scene. I am not interested in any hip hop, pop (like Michael Jackson, Tears for Fears, Culture Club, etc.), or dance. Any suggestions will be appreciated, and I will update this thread as I purchase/listen to these albums.

Thanks in advance.

I keep adding to them as I remember more. Sometimes I'm having trouble remembering if something was released in '79 or a bit later (like Wild Gift)
