SAW II-Directors Cut?

Is there any word of an extended or directors cut of this coming out down the road?

[AGENT SMITH]It is inevitable.[/AGENT SMITH]

I would bet money they release the "unrated version" with a free ticket to Saw III in October.

Even still, I'm buy the dvd on the 14th without hesitation.

Will the unrated cut be 8 seconds longer?

Has Saw III ACTUALLY been confirmed for October? Last I heard they were aiming for October but would wait until the next October if they thought the quality of the film was going to suffer if it was rushed.

It is better at this point in time, you ask that question directly to the director.

I dont think any dvdtalkmember can answer that rightnow.

Just a hint, its a different director compare to part 1.

i will wait for the uncut, it was obvious it was quite edited in the theatrical version. and 8 seconds of gore is alot. take even 3 seconds of gore away from Argento's Tenebre arm scene. totally different.

The director makes mention of an unrated release being put out at a later date on the commentary for Saw II.

[I'd assume this October when Saw III hits theaters.]

I was almost tempted to pick up the double pack of this and The Ugly(unrated btw) at Wal-mart. But I thought the better of it and will not bother.

I've always wanted to see The Ugly, but since i'm not too big of a fan of Saw 2 and an uncut version is being released later. It would be a waste of money. If the uncut S2 has any worthwhile graphic content added. I might check it out.

Well, Best Buy wants you to buy the original version...they are offering:
Order the terrifyingly twisted sequel, Saw II, and get a free, exclusive Saw Rebirth comic book, which reveals the origin of the mastermind killer, Jigsaw

In the commentary on the "Saw 2" DVD, there was only mention of two scenes that were cut.

Spoiler:
* Jonas puking blood when he entered the same room as Xavier, was cut down to about 5 seconds, from a much longer, gruesome spew

Spoiler:
* Jigsaw/John's failed suicide in his car. When he pulls the bar from his midsection, there was supposidly a take where you could see entrails.

I'd say that would total well over 8 seconds, and considering there were ZERO deleted scenes on the DVD, a UR DC is forthcoming. I'll gladly double-dip on this one, because I thought it was a fantastic film, and a great improvement. Ii watched it 3 times in 36 hours after nabbing it from work!

I just hope the unrated version will be the correct aspect ratio.

I've mailed Warner asking them to release all their 1.78:1 DVDs in their correct 1.85:1 aspect ratios. Let's see what happens. They got a lot of catching up to do (shit, almost ten years worth at this point).
