Costco First Week of February Thread

Since Blade hasn't posted his weekly Costco thread the past several weeks, I decided that we should have some kind of weekly thread where we write down the DVDs currently on sale at the store. I just came back from there and saw:

The Pink Panther Film Collection - $41.59 (includes ticket to the Steve Martin remake)
The Pink Panther Classic Cartoon collection - $41.59
He-man and the Masters of the Universe Vol 1 - $31.99
The Mob Box (Snatch, Donnie Brasco, Bugsy,The American Gangster) - $21.99
The Corpse Bride - $18.49
Sam Peckipah Collection - $39.99

Feel free to add to the list. And Blade, we miss you!!!!

I saw ST:TNG Seasons 1-3 and ST: DS9 Seasons 1-2 for 44.99 each

There may have been other seasons of each, but I didn't see any of them.

Good idea! I'll try to take notes when I go.

Hmm, my Costco has the Pink Panther DVDs for $39.99 ea., are you including sales tax or are they like Wal Mart and have different prices in each store? (Around here, there are 3 stores, each with different prices on their new DVDs).

Well, the Costco in Puerto Rico prices their items with sale tax included. But I also heard that Costco varies their pricing for +/- $1 from store to store.

My store had the deluxe Matrix set (with the Keanu bust) for 37.99. Not a bad deal if you want those flicks.

Thanks.

I'd meant to say something earlier, but I've decided to stop doing the thread. Work and life in general is just taking up too much time right now for me to promise to put these up in any kind of a timely fashion.

Glad everyone was able to get some use out of them while I was able to keep them up and sorry it got so hit and miss with the posting over the last few months.

I'll be sure to add to these threads when I can though.

Are these Pink Panther Film Collection sets at Costco that have the free movie ticket just a rewrapped version of the Film Collection set that was released a year or two ago or did they change the packaging or disc content inside?

The reason I ask is I still haven't opened the Pink Panther Film Collection I bought at Costco for about $35 a year or two ago. It wouldn't be worth returning the old and buying the new one for the ticket alone, but it would be if the 6 discs inside have anything new...

By the way, has anyone found any DVD reviews of the Curse and Son of the Pink Panther individual DVD releases? I can't find any.

Blade, thanks for all your great work in the past. I always thought making such a comprehensive list must be incredibly time-consuming. You deserve a break, and I don't think anyone begrudges it to you. So enjoy your semi-retirement and real life for a change!

Exactly the same, but with the ticket.

My local Costco finally had the Abbott & Costello Volume 4 set for $16.59, so I finally picked up the otherwise overpriced thing.

I'd love to contribute too, but 99.9% of my information came from Blade's threads.

Come back Blade! I hear having a life isn't all it's made out to be!

Thanks for the help on the Pink Panther Film Collection. As silly as this sounds, I hope you or someone else can answer the following question by looking at the DVDs you already own (hopefully people know how to tell DVD-5 vs. DVD-9):

Are each of the 5 movies in the Pink Panther Film Collection in the DVD-5 (single layer) or DVD-9 (dual layer) format?

Also, does anyone know if the recent individual MGM DVD releases of The Curse of the Pink Panther and Son of the Pink Panther are DVD-5 or DVD-9?
