Which Fox Noir DVD Wave Is the Best? (So far...)
Fox's Fim Noir series has been a big success not only due to the movies that they have released, but the quality way in which Foz has released them.
What I found interesting is that, to me, the 4th wave of titles was MUCH stronger than the 3rd wave of titles. It got me thinking, "Which wave was the best?" Hell, IS there a best wave, or do you think they've all been equally good?

Well, so far it looks like the first wave (Laura/Call Northside 777/Panic in the Streets) is getting most of the love, with waves 2 & 4 getting some good marks as well.
Wave 3 - well, it looks like most people agree with me: That was an underwhelming set of titles. The next set looks pretty decent, though. The 4th wave had one of my favorites - The Dark Corner - so I'm already inclined to vote for that one, and it also has Kiss of Death and Where the Sidewalk Ends, so it looks like the 3rd wave was a fluke. I wonder who's picking the titles to be released anyway?

I bought the 1st wave (got it at Costco as a 3 pack), but only Nightmare Alley as a stand-alone disc...other than Kiss Of Death, none of the others looks all that interesting to me, and I'm not a "completist" collector so I'll probably continue to pick and choose as more titles are released.
Maybe Deep Discount DVD or some other online seller could come up with a "3 titles for 1 price" promotion, so people like me could create our own "waves" with these discs. I really like the ones I've already got!

I have them all. Probably Kiss of Death is my favorite.
That said, I voted for the second wave because there was one movie in there, Nightmare Alley, I really enjoyed that I never would have seen had it not been released as part of this collection.
