article all about me and other dvd talkers
http://www.upi.com/Hi-Tech/view.php?...4-104213-6949r
This article made me laugh because I can identify with the dvd-aholics that they describe and their 500+ dvds, etc. Its worth a read.

When asked what motivates these people, Geoffrey Kleinman, editor, DVD Talk (www.dvdtalk.com), said, "Packaged media has been around since The Bible, so it's no wonder that it still thrives so much today. I think many people are collectors of some sort by nature. DVDs enable you to take the feelings you have about your favorite films and express them by buying them and proudly displaying them on your DVD shelf. Also the cost of being a DVD collector isn't huge ... although it can add up. And DVDs are way better than that boring old Bible."

Cool!
It's always cool to get noticed for being a dvd whore. HERE is the thread from 2 years ago when I slutted my stuff in the New York Times. If you read the thread....you'll see I even made it to TV.
It was good to be king for a day.

So is she saying that anyone who has under 500 DVDs isn't considered a DVD collector? I'm just wondering because I have about 250 and consider myself a DVD collector. I do all those things she talked about in the article, Scouring the ads, the forums and buying newer editions. I'm not complaining just seems kind weird. Great article though...

What a well written article!
What does "If you see a great movie" mean? You saw its title? If you saw it why would you have to rent it before buying it?
Not to mention "movies for sell". I hope that wasn't an accurate quote.
If you see a great movie, they will rent the film first and if they really like it they'll buy it. Collectors really know what they want to purchase. We have movies for sell on our site that we sell for a reasonable price," said Swasey.
