The first DVD was perfect as is... there isn't much room for improvement unless they've found a bunch of the long lost scenes...

I seriously doubt it. Warner usually doesn't do a re-release without a significant improvement over the older version. Often this means a new transfer to replace a flawed one (in addition to adding extras), but the transfer for The Goonies wasn't bad at all.

It would be nice to have it in a keepcase though.
