All I could think about this episode was the people in the politics forum throwing shit at the tv screen if they watched this

I thought this was the first episode in a while that balanced the campaign and WW stuff well. Mostly becasue they took the focus off of CJ and put it back on the President.

I liked this episode.
That's got to be a tough decision having to send in people to that nuclear reactor knowing that they will most likely die.

You've gotta be able to make that tough decision if you want to be President of the United States, or a bridge commander on the Starship Enterprise.

Well, I was waiting for the event that changed the race to "too close to call", I just never thought it was going to be a nuclear meltdown.

True. If I expressed my distress over the holes in this crap story line, it would be the first thread ever moved from TV to Politics. I'm surprised they didn't cancel L&O and CJ for the evening to show China Syndrome as Sunday Night movie followup. Damned antinuclear power brigade.

Wow, President Bartet needs to call Jack Bauer in on this one. I just hope they can rescue Edgar's mom in time.

I can't think of any other words that would sum up this liberal drivel episode more accurately.

this was the "West Wing" of old. Bartlett signing off on the death warrants of those two civilian workers was emotional to say the least.

great ep.

is John Spencer done with being in the eps? i thought Josh's "He's flying into Ohio" was lame if they aired all that he filmed, but i don't think they did. i am not sure how Santos can win now without a VP. the voters certainly wouldn't vote for him now, would they? they have to have John dying in the show don't they? i think that will be the most emotional ep ever if they do a solomn goodbye in that fashion and i think would be a fitting tribute to the great John S's legacy!

Dead candidates are actually quite popular with voters. Ask John Ashcroft.

I am sure they will have the character of Leo die, give the character the proper sendoff. I am sure that will be one of the highest ratest episodes too.

I don't think they will have the character Leo die and I don't think they should. There is no reason that the character cannot continue to live in the show and just not be seen. The VP was never a big character in the show anyway.

Articles on the show's cancellation do say that the first episode filmed after John Spencer's death was the election night episode and yes, they will write his heart attack into the show.

i think that the fact that he is dead in real life is a good reason! and to have him "live on" in the show would be the stupidest thing the creators could ever do with such a brilliant show. there is no way they would do something as idiotic as to have him lead this fictious life. death is usually tributary and honoring when done in the right way on the right show.

the VP may never have been a big character in the show, but John Spencer WAS!!
