Spiderman Deluxe vs Superbit?

I have the deluxe edition but I'm a sucker for DTS. Is there much of a difference between the two to warrant having a second copy?

Actually, Spiderman Superbit is one of the better examples of SB.

I own both and prefer the DTS sound track. More oomph in the action scenes. The one feature which really made the Superbit worthwhile to me is the commentary with Tobey Maguire and JK Simmons (J. Jonah Jameson). It's the only Superbit that I own that has commentary. As for the picture, I've never A/B'd the two versions on my 36" Sony Trinitron XBR CRT.

The transfer on the Superbit is better than the regular release.

Being that Superbits are all $10 in best buy I say its worth it... If just to find out if the difference is enough for you...

You guys would tell me that wouldn't you. I've never cared much about commentaries and such but for better video and sound I'll probably go for it. They had a couple left when I was there so I'd better run by there after work and have a look

Maybe I can sell my deluxe on ebay or something. No need to have both.

Yeah. I would say go pick up the SB for the improved AV. It's only $9.99 anyway.

The deluxe version is merely a bundle of the regular 2-disc edition and a bonus disc to advertise the Spider-Man 2 movie.

Buy it! I've owned both, the SB is noticably better in video and audio.

Deluxe (SE + a 3rd disc) is what you want for the extras. The Superbit is what you want for the SOUND and PQ. Keep them both.

I think the Best Buy sale on superbits ended a few days ago. Check the deals forum for the details.

Slightly off topic: I did a comparison between the HD version that was on HBO and the Superbit. The SB does come pretty close to HD especially with my upconverting Oppo. I did find it funny that the HD version which was displayed in 1.78:1 had more picture info on the top and bottom of the screen than the 2.35:1 DVD. When Peter was having dinner with Octavius and his wife it was most noticeable.

No. It's still going strong in the stores.

Well just got back and it's safe to say the sale is still going on....I'm $90.00 poorer now. I just couldn't quit. I went in the the bins that I saw before and picked up spiderman....well then I made the mistake of going to the shelves. They had tons of them all at 9.99. So I loaded up on some I'm replacing and some I didn't have.

Got:

Spiderman
Spiderman 2
Resident Evil
The Patriot
Air Force One
Dark Crystal
Hook
The Mask Of Zorro
The Fifth Element

Here's my question though: I already had these:
Spiderman Deluxe Edition
Spiderman 2 Special Edition
Dark Crystal Special Edition
The Patriot SE

Honestly extras aren't that big of deal to me unless it's deleted scenes actually put in the movie like LOTR.

I watch them once and am done and commetaries I don't care about.

Any reason to keep the old movies or try to make up some of what I spent by selling and make the wife a little less mad
