Simpsons S6 or S7 $15.49 @ Costco

I just got back from picking up S7... there's $15 off instantly on those two seasons. All the S7's I saw here the Marge head but I didn't look too closely, they may have had the box as well.

I was just in costco YESTERDAY. Grr. I even looked at the sets. All they had were the Season Sevens with the normal box, which I preferred. But I saw it was $30 on the price tag so I skipped.

Back I go I guess.

I read over at HTF that they also have an instant rebate of $15 for 24 Season 4. I believe the regular price is $42 and change, so this would bring it down to just $27 and change.

Cool! Anybody know how long the instant rebates lasts? Does the $15.47 include tax?

Are there one-day passes available at any site? I am not a Costco member, but would love to get in on this.

According to the poster at HTF, the sale is good through Sunday, the 22nd. You'll have to pay tax on the $15.49.

Right, I think it's good till Sunday. And yep, 24 season 4 was also included. I couldn't remember the original price on that so I didn't post it, but it was in the low to mid 40's as previously mentioned. There were also various DVD's that were $7 off as well. All I remember specifically was Office Space Spec. Ed but that discount brings that to around $8.

I won't be able to make it down to Costco until later in the week. Since the rebates are mainly on Fox TV sets, I would appreciate it if anyone who goes to Costco could check and see if there's a rebate for The Shield Season 4. I would also like to know if there's a rebate for The Pretender, Remington Steele & King of the Hill(they all share the same item number and are regularly priced at $26.99). Thanks.

If it works the same way as it did for the Alien Quadrilogy set last year, you actually pay tax on the pre-coupon price. So you'd pay tax on $30.49.

Perhaps someone can confirm this. Either way, it's still a great deal.

Edit: Per the post by Sweet Baby James below, this might be a state to state thing.

The Costcos(or is it Costcoes) that I go to in Connecticut charges tax on the discounted price. It must be a state to state thing.

I think non members pay 110% which is still cheaper than anywhere else.

I'm 99.9% sure that only Simpsons S6&S7 and 24 S4 had the $15 rebate. Like I said there are some $7 rebates but those seemed to be mainly on movies.

Thanks Chops. I was hoping to score The Shield for twenty and change. I think that I'll still take it up to the register and have them scan it, just in case.

A friend of mine called from Costco and told that there are several Universal titles like 12 Monkeys and Slapshot for $4.99. He told me that Donnie Darko Directors Cut was marked at $12.99 but it had an $5 off instant rebate that lowers the price to $8.00 . I'll try to go by tonight and see what else they have.

I'm tempted to buy Donnie Darko but I've read that the Director's Cut explains too much and that takes away some of the mystery.

Costco Questions...?

Anyone know if there is a limit on how many you can buy? Also... My parents have a membership there (I think). How strict are they on using a family member's pass? I've never been in the place.

Can anyone verify to see if all of the season box sets for 24 are on sale or have an instant price savings? Is it just season 4?

Thanks!

You can use your parents card. You just flash it to the doorman as you walk in. If there's a picture of your parent on the card, then just hold your thumb over it as you flash it. You have to also give the card to the cashier at checkout, but they won't care. If they give you any grief for not being the one pictured on the card, just tell them that your parent ask you to pick something up for them(I seriously doubt that it will come to that).
