Walk the Line?? Any news or rumors?

Has anyone heard any small rumor or anything at all about Walk the Line being released on DVD? No rumor is too small for me. I want the movie so badly. I also want the soundtrack, but have been holding off on the off chance there is a DVD release that comes with it. However, I am losing my willpower. I wish their plans were known.

They're waiting to see what Oscar thinks of it.

Do they have any intention of ever releasing the entire San Quentin performance on DVD??

Walked by an FYE today, who had a sing up adverstising the DVD as "Coming Soon". If I had to guess, I'd say March or April release.

Well, that's something! The first of anything I have heard of it even being in the pipeline. Good news.

Thanks for those links. I've been really curious when Fox was going to release this awesome film. If March 7 is the date, I'll be the first in line to buy the dvd.

www.amazon.ca has it for Pre-Order on June 6! There's a Widescreen Collector's Edition, Regular Widescreen Edition and Full Screen Edition. I think that date may be moved up though. The Walk the Line on March 7 is a Gregory Peck movie directed by John Frankenheimer and is actually called I Walk the Line.

I work for a DVD retailer and we got a memo today saying that Walk the Line is coming out Feb. 28. I'm pretty sure it's the Johnny Cash Biopic since the memo concerned other non-film related Johnny Cash promotions.

Courtesy of TheDigitalBits' Rumor Mill:

We've gotten word in today on the extras you can expect on Fox's forthcoming DVD release of Walk the Line. We're expecting the studio to announce it very soon, and sources are telling us to look for the title on store shelves by mid-March at the latest. Walk the Line be available in 2 versions. There will be a single-disc regular edition (SRP $29.98), that'll include the film in anamorphic widescreen video (a separate full frame version may also be available) along with director commentary, 10 deleted scenes and theatrical trailers. There will also be a 2-disc Collector's Edition (SRP $39.98) that will include the film in anamorphic widescreen video, the same director commentary, 10 deleted scenes and theatrical trailers as the regular edition, plus 3 extended music videos, and The Passion of the Man in Black and Walk the Line: Comeback documentaries.

Awesome! $39.98 MSRP! Aww, they think they're Criterion. How cute.

Let's see I'd have to watch the movie like 10 times to make that worth the $$. No thanks.

**Drools**

They can count me in for that one. I loved this movie so that I am sure I will get lots and lots of play out of it.

Loved the movie, but I think that 1-disc will be enough. It'll likely be sold for $15 during release week and the 2-disc probably double that.

Collectors Edition for me. Walk the Line was a very good film and I'm extremely interested in more info on Johnny Cash

Still wondering why the heck no one has released a remastered version of the full San Quentin concert on DVD. Are there any legal issues??

I'll have to think long and hard about which version to get. Either one, I'll still get one of them.

I want the Collectors Edition because I love Johnny Cash and I loved the movie but I may wait until I find it used if possible. Or I may wait for a high-def version, not that the film really needs it but I've been holding off on some of my DVD purchases as of late.

From the distributer that our video store gets their movies from, they have a street date of July 11. I highly doubt that it will street in Feb. Due to the fact that all of the publications i have read haven't mentioned it. At the earliest i would expect March/april, but July does seem possible as March is already very busy.

Our store still has a release date of Feb 28 and I heard Blockbuster has the same date advertised. I can actually pre-order it now, though I know there is no guarantee that it won't be pushed back.
