Loose Fur: Born Again in the U.S.A. - 3/21/06

This is the collaboration between Wilco's Jeff Tweedy and Glenn Kotche and Jim O'Rourke. I enjoyed their first album and this new one is due March 21st on Drag City Records.

The album leaked over the weekend.

Good stuff. Easily more-accessible than the last one. Interestingly, this one's actually a little shorter than the debut, even though it's got ten tracks compared to six. Highlights are "The Ruling Class" and "Wreckroom," which features a really cool guitar harmony riff about halfway in.

I think Tweedy's stuff isn't as strong on this one but O'Rourke's is tighter. I can't decide yet if I like it more than the first yet. It's definitely more even though.

Doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of interest in Loose Fur around here, which is really too bad, because it's a pretty good record.
