More Roger Corman re-releases from Buena Vista ----> 2/7/06

From thedigitalbits.com:

Buena Vista has also announced more Roger Corman action classics for release on 2/7, including Rage and Discipline, Black Scorpion, Second to Die, When Eagles Strike and Hot Parts. And coming on 2/7 from the Corman library are the family classics Revenge of the Red Baron, Andy Colby's Incredibly Awesome Adventure!, A Very Unlucky Leprechaun, The Crazysitter, Hope Ranch and No Dessert Dad, 'Til You Mow the Lawn!. All will carry a $6.99 SRP except Rage and Discipline, which will set you back just $14.99.

Haven't seen any of those. Thanks for the info.

I think I've rented all of the discs that are currently out.

Is there a list somewhere of those?

Does anybody have a good comparison to the previous versions? I think in the first set RnRHS got a new featurette and commentary track, but lost the booklet and LM interview. BBM got a new commentary, any losses? DR2K is anamorphic, but lost the LM interview. Caged Heat appears to be the same in the second wave. Any others?

Doesn't Fox own Frankenstein Unbound? I've seen the film aired uncut(with the gore scenes cut from the R version intact!) on FXM a few times.

And sadly from the looks of the various other Corman releases that came out. They may be direct ports of the older releases. Since some will say they have the Maltin interview and trailer gallery..along with fullscreen presentation. Meanwhile no mention of subtitles or captions is on the package.

So does anyone know if they are new transfers or direct ports of the previous New World releases?

I was happy with the Death Race 2000 SE being in 16.9 and having closed captions. So I was really looking forward to similar treatment to the rest of Cormans catalog.

IFC aired a beautiful widescreen print of Piranha last Halloween that was also closed captioned. It was a Paramount print(they have tv rights I assume) though. But I sure hope that print makes it to dvd sometime! But I fear when Piranaha is rereleased,it will be a port of the New World disc. Since if Caged Heat isn't getting a new 16.9 transfer despite being made by a big name director. I fear similar treatment to Dantes film as well.

I missed Humanoids from the Deep when it aired on IFC,but it was also said to be in widescreen..and a Paramount print.

Humanoids was WS, it's on my tivo w/ Pirahna. It was not the uncut version though, it does not show the head-ripping-off-scene at the festival but it had the Paramount logo.

I can't wait for the remake of A Bucket of Blood to be released. That was just as great as the original, plus a great cameo by Will Ferrell.
