Sold out showings today at the theater:what gives

I went today going to finally see Brokeback Mountain and it was sold out... Every freaking showing between 3 til 6 for any movie during those times was sold out....


I finally saw the Ringer(ok film) but what gives


i am thinking people wanted to get the matinee showing but is there another reason

Perhaps today was a holiday for steelworkers, and of course they would all go to see the gay cowboy movie.

That and Brokeback is still in fairly limited release, somewhere around 400 screens this week I think so more people have to go to the same location to see it.
