Help me DVD gods!

Help me figure out which movies I might want to pick up in the future. What are the top 5 DVD's every American must own for the following movie genres...

I can see from looking at your collection that you already own the greatest movie ever made! Of course, I'm referring to Plan 9 from Outer Space.
