Good Night and Good Luck ----> 3/14/06

From dvdtimes.co.uk:

Good Night and Good Luck (R1) in March

Warner Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Good Night and Good Luck for 14th March 2006 priced at $28.98 SRP. "Good Night, And, Good Luck." takes place during the early days of broadcast journalism in 1950's America. It chronicles the real-life conflict between television newsman Edward R. Murrow and Senator Joseph McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee. With a desire to report the facts and enlighten the public, Murrow, and his dedicated staff - headed by his producer Fred Friendly and Joe Wershba in the CBS newsroom - defy corporate and sponsorship pressures to examine the lies and scaremongering tactics perpetrated by McCarthy during his communist 'witch-hunts'. A very public feud develops when the Senator responds by accusing the anchor of being a communist. In this climate of fear and reprisal, the CBS crew carries on and their tenacity will prove historic and monumental.

George Clooney directs and stars alongside a cast that includes Patricia Clarkson, Jeff Daniels, David Strathairn, Frank Langella, Robert Downey, Jr. and Tate Donovan.

Features include:
1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen
English DD5.1 Surround
English, French & Spanish subtitles
Audio commentary with George Clooney and Grant Heslov

Excellent news - I've been meaning to see this in the one local theater playing it but have been too busy over the holidays... I'll definitely pick the DVD up.

maybe the dvd gods will do us all a favor and re-release confessions of a dangerous mind with the original cover art as well... i have purposefully not bought that because the cover art was so bad.

I plan on seeing this tomorrow. There's a small local theater nearby that only gets limited release films. They also have The Squid and the Whale. Sounds like a nice double feature...
