$32.99 at Best Buy.
Probably the best price to be found outside of the membership-only places like Costco. Two Walmarts in my area have it around $40, as does CC. I was hoping for better at Walmart. Oh well.

Folks, this is a great series, but the studio is attempting to screw its loyal fans by releasing an early “one-half” season (10 episodes) set for an outrageous price. As much as I hate to wait, I’m going to boycott this purchase until they complete the second season, I believe by March, and release a “complete” season set for a reasonable price. I urge you to do the same.

Costco will probably have an extra $10 off if you buy both deal. I'm hoping DDD will include it in their next B1G1 sale.
Don't know if everyone is aware of this, but the promised extended version of "Pegasus" didn't make it into this set but will be in the 2nd half set.

I'm wondering how this is a rip off.
IIRC, I paid about $42-$43 for the first season. Yes, that was a "full" season, but it was only 13 episodes.
This is 3 episodes less, for about $10 less. Where's the rip off?
And what if they do what happened with Sex and the City on this? IIRC, the sixth season of that show was also released in two parts, and is only available that way, not counting the complete series set. Its sixth season was never released in one edition.

The bad thing about this release is that the full version of the Pegasus episode is not included...which many thought would be. I love BSG as much as the next rabid fan, but this 2.0 release just smells of greed to me. Now if they would have put that extended version of Pegasus on the release, I would have had to pick it up.

^ I wouldn't let that alone stop me from getting it. I don't really care about that. It's superb stuff. Watching it will quickly reignite my interest and get me geared up for the rest of the season.
And if they only release a 2.5, you'll need to buy this set anyway. And who knows what the price will be then. BB has it $7 off their sticker price for release week.

It turns that Costco (at least the one near me, Chantilly VA) is also doing the instant $10 off if you buy BG 2.0 and Serenity at the same time. So, $30 + $18.50 - $10 = $38.50.

Wow, this stinks. My Best Buy was completely sold out of everything Battlestar. I hate holiday crowds. I snagged a copy at Hastings for 40 bucks. I didn't realize it was only half a season with no bonus features.

Everyone's speculating.
From everything I've read this set was very rushed, I can't imagine they wouldn't make it right with a complete box later. We'll see.

I just wanted to jump in and point out that new episodes begin again on the Sci-Fi channel on January 6th.
As for whether or not to buy the current season 2, there's going to be a new Season 2 DVD set in the late spring. The question is whether the new Season 2 DVD set will be all of Season 2, or just the 2nd half of Season 2. Personally, I won't be buying any BSG DVDs since I watch them all on TV and they are too overpriced in my opinion.
