Running on Empty (1988) Will there EVER be a widescreen version???

This is a film that I would love to see get the special edition treatment, but would even settle for a bare bones widescreen version and still be happy. It is one of Lumet and River Phoenix's best films, so it's a shame that it has only been released in pan and scan. Would anyone else buy a widescreen version of the film if it existed in R1?

I'd be the first in line. I only own two P&S films and this is one of them simply because I had to own it. Hopefully they'll get around to it soon.

If you're region free (which you really should be), there's an anamorphic release out here in Europe.

I gave my P&S copy to my mom so that I can at least watch it when I visit her if I really get a yen to watch it. It's a favorite of mine and I would love a widescreen anamorphic version!

Glad that there are others on here that feel the same way! Now lets just hope that Warner can get it together and release this gem in the way that it was meant to be seen. Special features wouldn't hurt either.

Great movie...one that I have been holding out on in relation to a widescreen transfer. Might have to pick up the current release since it only runs $5.99 at DDD. It amazes me some of the movies the studios decide to release over and over yet they cannot give this title a proper release.
