Jackass 2 has been confirmed for a September 2006 release date.

Other films that are coming that have not been mentioned...

Final Destination 3 and Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion (which is a spin-off of Diary of a Mad Black Woman) come out 2/2006.

Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction and Ice Age 2 comes out 3/2006.

Scary Movie 4 comes out 4/2006.

The Fast and the Furious 3: Toyko and Garfield 2 come out 6/2006.

The Grudge 2 comes out 10/2006.

Saw 3 will most likely come out 10/2007, unless production starts soon.

They're waiting on the script, havent heard squat about Twohy since he signed in June to write it. It's supposed to start filming in the spring but so far not looking like they will make that deadline.

I thought Twohy never signed on to write it. I thought initially the man wrote a script involving a heist in Brazil, but the producers of The Italian Job discovered it and wanted to take said screenplay and make it a sequel to the film.

Like legit sequels where the people who made the last movie are actually involved in the next one (Mission: Impossible 3, Rocky Balboa)? Or straight-to-video sequels where they're sequels in name only (8MM 2, Single White Female 2)?

Wasn't "I still know what you did last summer" enough?

Will this one also take place in Summer 1998...just like the first two movies?

I based all of my dates on the IMDB. I know they're inaccurate, but just to keep things uniform, that's what I'm using...so the Rocky date will change on my list when it does on the IMDB. I added Bond, and don't consider Superman to be a sequel.

A few rumors have been floating around on this one, but nothing definite that I've read.

They signed him to rewrite his script.

From Variety:
David Twohy has set up a trio of writing assignments, one of which will turn his original heist pic premise into "The Brazilian Job," the sequel to Paramount hit remake "The Italian Job."

Twohy, whom Par has also tapped to direct his script "The Would-Be Warrior" for Nickelodeon Films (he'll also write sci-fi actioner "The Break" for Columbia), found his way into the "Job" sequel by accident.

"I came in to pitch my own heist picture called 'The Wrecking Crew,' something I planned to direct myself, " said Twohy, who has helmed "Pitch Black" and "The Chronicles of Riddick" and whose script credits include "The Fugitive" and "G.I. Jane."

Twohy said Donald De Line and John Goldwyn, who took the meeting, liked his idea but suggested it would be best suited for the sequel. (Similarly, George Nolfi's heist script "Honor Among Thieves" was shanghaied into "Ocean's Twelve"). Twohy said yes, even though he was fully aware he would be waxed from the "Brazilian Job" directing assignment by returning helmer F. Gary Gray.
