When did Lois & Clark go downhill?

I watched Lois & Clark during its original run, and I know it got pretty bad toward the end, but I don't remember which was the first bad season.

Was season 2 still good? I'm thinking of getting that DVD when it comes out in January.

Season 2 was better than season 1-it went downhill when Lois and Clark got married and when they had villains such as Delta Burke didn't help matters.

I watched it religiously but I can't for the life of me remember any of the episodes or when it went downhill. Perhaps when Lois found out that Clark was Superman?

It went downhill with Season 3 when Lois either found out or revealed she knew (can't remember which) that Clark and Superman were one and the same. I recall Season 2 being very good.

Pathetic. The show had such promise during the first season too.

I think it was when Teri Hatcher got the short boy-cut:

The further the series got the less superman actually did. The first season he actually stops some bad guys, by the last he uses his powers to cook lois a delicious meal.

Yeah, I totally lost interest in this show around season 3, and being a life-long comic fan, that'd be tough to do, but they succeeded in killing my interest in the show.

If I recall:

Spoiler:
Clark was going to admit to Lois that he was Superman when he went to propose to her, but instead Lois said "Who's asking, Clark Kent (takes off his glasses) or Superman?" Which I believe was the cliffhanger for that season.

But I watched it during the original run, which was a while ago so I may be off.

I would place it at the point when Not-Lois-Lane downed a frog.

(Also, not to rain on this parade, but does anybody else wish there was a whole website for questions like this? Maybe someday there will be.)

I think it was the Justine Bateman apperance. Not because of here but just the whole Kryptonian invaxion was stupid.

The problem with jumptheshark.com is that most people who post there just say 'the show started to suck when 'X' happened', but they don't say when 'X' happened - they don't give the season or episode name.

So, if you are planning to pick up a series on DVD and you want to know which seasons are good, jumptheshark.com isn't very helpful.

The marriage cliffhanger ("Who's asking, Clark or Superman?") is at the end of season 2. Season 3 starts with Lois being mad that he had kept the secret from her.

Most fans I talk to seem to think it jumped with Clone / Frog Eating Lois came into the picture, which IIRC happened in Season 3.

the problem about this show is that it really wasn't about superman......more like drama between lois and clark

Ummm... DUH?

The name of the show is LOIS & CLARK

Superman is merely a subtitle.

Actually, the Season 2 cliffhanger went like this:

Spoiler:
Clark: Lois Lane, will you marry me?
Lois: Clark, I...
To Be Continued...

The Season 3 opener started with
Lois: Who's asking? Clark Kent or Superman?

And yeah, it pretty much went downhill from there. Although I do remember mildly liking the Kryptonian invasion storyline that was the Season 3 cliffhanger/Season 4 opener. But most of the rest of it stank.
