Help me get rid of some DVD's

I am selling some of my DVD's cause I don't watch most of them because they were either blind buys or gifts. I plan to trade in a lot of them at FYE for store credit. I plan to get rid of stuff like Half Baked, Not Another Teen Movie etc... I would like to hear what other people think are the worst out of my collection as my tastes are changing.

Where's your collection?

... even so, why are you relying on others to determine your own tastes?

Oh, and I want to get others opinions just to see what others think. Never hurts.

Anchorman
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (stick with original)
Dodgeball
Girl Next Door
Half Baked
National Treasure
Phone Booth
Star Wars Eps I & III
War of the Worlds (stick with original)

Not a bad collection at all. I'm not typically a fan of pop films, so take my list with a grain of salt. Eventually, give some older comedy a chance since that seems to be your thing. ... such as Fletch, Kelly's Heroes, The Jerk, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest .. I don't know.

The ones that you guys listed that I am going to trade in are:
Anchorman
Dodgeball
Girl Next Door
Half Baked

I grew up with Spaceballs as well as Star Wars, am a Depp/Burton fan, liked War Of The Worlds, and National Treasure/Phonebooth were some guilty pleasures. Monty Python is a classic though. Will never get rid of that gem.

Thank you for your advice though. I will look into all those films.

I would ditch:

Bourne Supremacy
Friday Night Lights
Harold & Kumar
Ice Age
Meet the Fockers
The Rookie

The rest is pretty decent..and even those movies I liked, just I know I certainly don't watch them very often.

All of those aren't great film's, but just popcorn flicks really to just relax to. I think will stick with most of those.

Thank you for your insight though. I appreciate your time!

you have a solid start! Why get rid of movies that are fun in your collection.

The list below I found to be boring are the following (Think about it who wants to come over and see a boring film? yawnn! ) :

CHASING AMY
FINDING NEVERLAND
GARDEN STATE
HERO
HOLY GRAIL
ANCHORMAN
JAY AND SILENT BOB
THE ROCKIE
SIDEWAYS
SPACEBALLS

Now that's just crazy talk.

I say get rid of Polar Express, especially if you haven't watched it yet.

The Incredibles
Kill Bill 1
Kill Bill 2
Kung Fu Hustle
Lord of the Rings DVDs
Office Space
Spiderman 2
Star Wars DVDs

Boo-hiss to getting rid of J&SB Strike Back and Spaceballs. Especially Spaceballs. That's a comedy classic, especially if you are a fan of Trek or Wars.

You do not have permission to get rid of Holy Grail- I repeat, you do not have permission to get rid of Holy Grail. Carry on...

I'd get rid of:

Armageddon
The Bourne Supremecy
Bruce Almighty
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Chasing Amy
Dodgeball
Elf
Finding Nemo
Friday Night Lights
Garden State
The Girl Next Door
Half Baked
Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle
Hellboy
Hero (I own this too but I haven't gotten around to ditching it yet.)
Meet the Fockers
Monsters Inc.
Phone Booth (was this a gift? )
Polar Express
The Rookie
War of the Worlds

Why get rid of Anchorman? I think it's the second funniest movie you have!

Alot of these movies mentioned I would never get rid of, especially the comedies.

IMO, The Girl Next Door is underrated. And it doesn't end the way you think it would. Part with Anchorman, Fockers, Dodgeball, Harold & Kumar, Garden State? NEVER!

I'd get rid of all the "check your brain at the door" nonsense:

ANCHORMAN
DODGEBALL
THE GIRL NEXT DOOR
HALF-BAKED
HAROLD AND KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE (I feel stupider just typing that title)
KUNG FU HUSTLE

Additionally, the ra-ra, we've-seen-it-all-before sports films FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS and THE ROOKIE can take a walk.

Lastly, say bye-bye to SIN CITY since a much better version is forthcoming.

don't get rid of half baked!!! CLASSIC CHAPPELLE!!!
But on another note....how much do they give you per dvd when you trade them in? I was planning on getting rid of all the 1st versions of movies i had to double dip on when the "better" version came out. ( i knew i should have held off on sin city)

Thanks for all your help. I am going to trade some in today. It depends on how new the DVD is and how "rare" I guess.

Thank you for all your input and for the most part it helped. I am getting rid of most of the bad comedies, but some of them I enjoyed and will keep like The Girl Next Door, Harold and Kumar and maybe Anchorman just because of Steve Carrell.

Thanks again!
