Need help with Victory at Sea DVD Set

So I want to purchase the Victory at Sea DVD Set for my father and I have run into a bit of a snag. There appear to be two versions.

This is the first version, it was release this year and says it's a "multi-disc collectors set"

Then there is this set that was released in 2003 that is the "complete series"

I looked on Amazon, etc and the reviews are all over the place, one has bad sound, the other isn't complete in length, etc, etc.

Can anyone help me sort this out? I want to get the one that is most complete (not abridged) and of course, extras, good sound, etc is preferred too.

That first set is $6 at walmart.com, so I would wonder about the quality of it.

Here are some reviews for the second set.

hmm..thanks. I think I'll get the one with the black and white cover, it seems to be the most complete. I guess someone else got their hands on the rights for the cheaper one that came out this year.

FWIW, I have the 50th Anniversary set (the one you intend to buy) and am very happy with it. It may or may not mean anything, but the episodes are spread out over one more disc than the other set. Also, I don't see anything about the Peter Graves intros on the other set.

Cool thanks. I'll definitely get that one.
