svs sub question(Powered or Passive)

Im having a total brain fart
old age i guess....

sub will be hooked up to a denon receiver(sub out)

since it`s being driven by the reciever id need a Passive sub?

Uh, no. The sub out is NOT driven by the receiver. You need a powered sub. Only a couple of SVS's models are not powered, shouldn't be too much of a problem.
