Starship Troopers SE $9.99 @ BB
Slap me silly if this is already widely known, but I just stumbled on it tonight while using DVDPriceSearch. Confirmed that it's listed on BB's site at this price, too.
I've been waiting for a decent price to pick this guilty fav up. DDD's price of $21.46 is horrid, and even after 20 percent off, it's still $17.
I'll be at Best Buy in the morning!

Mixup just online, or in store also? Maybe I should print that page out.
Or maybe I should get the superbit. Would the difference really be that noticeable on a standard TV? If the price is the same, and extras are something I watch once if at all... decisions, decisions...

I actually just price matched this in store from their on-line price. The in store price was $22.99. I told the girl it was $9.99 on-line @ bestbuy and she didn't even check. She just changed in manually.

Fortunately I have several BB stores in my area, so I found it available at another and will pick it up after work Friday.
Add that to Robocop (first movie only*) I got from DDD, and I've got two excellent Verhoeven flicks to add to the collection on the cheap!
* Yeah, I know it's not the "unedited" version, but I'd rather pay $7 for one movie I want, rather than $21 for all three.

If you don't watch extras, I'd say go with the Superbit. If you ever have a TV that can benefit from the extra bitrate, you'll be glad you have it.
I bought the Superbit myself, and it's been played many, many times.

Superbit won't have the deleted scene of Denise getting felt up.
Of course, it will have fantastic picture and sound quality. You be the judge. I went with the Superbit version.

I compared a few reviews on Starship Troopers, and it sounded like the SE was only a small step up from the first release (which I have) in picture quality. That's surprising because the first release fit the movie into a DVD-5. With a DVD-9 and a separate DVD for the extras, you'd think the quality would be massively better. Do people really think the SE is worth $9.99 to upgrade over the first edition?

I don't have the first one, obviously, but I just watched this and it seemed pretty good to me. But I'm no techie. There's significant dirt on the opening studio logo, but that goes away immediately. A couple specks appeared a couple times, but they are few and far between. I was satisfied with the picture quality. I can see some of the coloring on the bugs like I never could on broadcast. Sounds awesome.

I thought this has been out of print for at least a couple years. I've been wanting it for a long time if it's the 2 disc SE...very under-rated satire, just like Robocop.

Here's my story...
On Sunday Starship Troopers SE showed up at $9.99 on Best Buy's web site with copies available at my nearest store. When I went to Best Buy today, I had them check (and I looked over their shoulder) Best Buy.com which I saw showed the price back over $20. So they said they would've pricematched it, but couldn't. On the shelves they had 3 copies.
So I went home and looked at Best Buy.com, and it still shows $9.99, but my local store now shows unavailable for in-store pickup even though I personally witnessed 3 copies a couple hours ago.
This shows me how great their inventory system is, and it seems like they must have a secret version of Best Buy.com they use to show in-store customers which has higher prices than what the web site shows everyone else. I doubt the price jumped and went back down in the space of a few hours. I'm beginning to think it's not worth the trouble.

I guess I should've done in-store delivery, but I figured since it was that price on Sunday there should be no reason for it to change price during the week. That makes me think it was a price error and they just caught it.
So I'll just add to my list of ones I'm waiting to be under $10. Until then I'll live with my old version.
