From billboard.com: Alabama, one of the world's most popular country music acts, will be anthologized on an upcoming three-disc box set. Due Jan. 31 via RCA/Legacy, "Livin' Lovin' Rockin' Rollin': The 25th Anniversary Collection" is the first such comprehensive compilation of the band's output, which has generated more than 30 No. 1 hits on Billboard's country singles chart.

Amidst 50-plus tracks are such favorites as "Dixieland Delight," "Old Flame" and "Forever's As Far As I'll Go." The set also boasts nine previously unreleased tracks, including a pair of live medleys and concert recordings of "Tar Top," "Vacation," "If It Ain't Dixie" and "Gonna Have a Party." Other unheard cuts are a demo of "Ripperly O'Tucke" and alternate versions of "Face to Face" and "God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You."

Beyond the music, the package will include liner notes by band members and Nashville journalist Robert K. Oermann, photos and a career timeline.

They had 42 songs on there 2-disc set so this one should at least have 60 songs.

Does anyone have a link to the article posted a couple of years back that explained why Alabama was the death of country music. Thanks, it was a insightful and great read.

Haven't heard of that article, but I'd believe it. That whole early 80's and Urban Cowboy era of country was scary bad.

I am happy to report that most the songs on set are indeed album versions instead of single versions like on 2 disc set. Why Fallin' Again is the single version I'll never know.
I've updated the listings with times and they could have added at least 6 or 7 songs more though.

That's the one thing that's always bugged me about For The Record. Roll On doesn't have the 18-wheeler starting up at the beginning and Mountain Music doesn't have the old guy talking at the beginning or the part in the middle that starts slow and gets faster, and faster....

That's the only ones I can think of off-hand.

Still, I don't see this set being worth the upgrade. The only song I really want is Angels Among Us.

Just listened to Dixieland Delight on the radio today. Forgot how good that song is.

Are there any prices posted for this yet?

For The Record versues box sets time:
3:56 Dixieland Delight - 5:06
3:34 She and I - 5:16

I have every Alabama CD except the 3 Gr. Hits which I sold when For The Record came out. I still have to have it for the 9 previously unreleased tracks + She and I (love the longer version), Hats Off, and the great song - The Fans.
