any high-end guys here?

Scott's thread about receivers vs. separates got me wondering if there were any high-end guys who hang out here. I know there are some people like me with mid-level gear (I use Paradigm Reference, Anthem, Adcom, and Denon gear), but are there any serious HT guys here? I'm thinking along the lines of Wilson, Meredian, Krell, EMM Meitner, etc...

just curious!

I bought a house once for over $20K. My system MSRP totals around $12K, cost less. So I'm like Brian. Familiar, but no more. Unfortunately.

It can be a depressing place if you don't have the $$$

Like Brian and Spiky, I'm in the same boat. Have about a $15k MSRP setup, but still have bigger dreams.

Frankly I don't think we are missing much.

Bottom line is how does it sound to you. Most of those high end components are not in rooms that are properly designed or being used by people that appreciate them.

Yeah, over $20K is mostly far out stuff. Other than projectors there isn't much in that price range that would appeal to me even if I had Bill Gates wallet. I could see reaching $10K for amps and more for 7 speakers and near that for a processor. But not over 20.

Well with Bill Gates money I'd be spending that kinda cash, because really, what else are you going to spend it on.

I know the brands, but have never heard most of them. Fun to look at in magazines, but I don't lose any sleep over not being able to own them.

I'm familiar with the names and have heard some of them while mingling with golden eared 'philes at shows and at store-invite demos
