My Name Is Earl -- "Joy's Wedding" -- 11.15.2005

"Joy's Wedding"

Earl (Jason Lee) learns that Joy (Jaime Pressly) has neglected to invite him to her and Darnell’s (Eddie Steeples) wedding from Randy’s (Ethan Suplee) invitation, which instructs him to bring "anyone but Earl." Randy of course invites Catalina (Nadine Velazquez) to be his date since he's excited about the opportunity to dance with her. Joy has also conveniently scheduled the wedding on Earl’s birthday so that all of their friends will be unable to celebrate with him. Consequently, Earl drunkenly crashes the ceremony and accidentally breaks Joy’s nose in the process, now forced to add "ruined Joy’s wedding" to his list. In an effort to right this wrong, Earl helps Joy plan her perfect wedding and the two finally start to get along - maybe a little too well.

Randy on the bed may have been the single biggest laugh of the series so far in my household.

Best comedy on TV. Period.

Jamie Pressly may not do too well in motion pictures, but she sure knows how to bring the funny on this show. Randy watching Nadine at the end was priceless.

It's too bad you don't remember the Crab Man montage, but you got the single most important part.

This episode left me cold... they spent almost every previous episode making Joy out to be a shrill, idiotic bitch, but now we're supposed to feel sympathy for her?

Crab Man's sister, though-

Probably the best episode of the series.

Ethan Suplee is one of the few people on TV that can get laughs with just his facial expressions.

Not as many LOL moments as usual for me, but still a funny ep. Best sitcom going right now. Great bits: Randy on the bed, Nadine talking about dancing, Nadine actually dancing, Joy's registry, Crabman's family, the whole wedding setup...

Crabman: "I did not have sexual relations wit my moms!!!"

I had to rewind the scene where Joy gets hit in the face with the soccer ball 3 times. Her expression as she spun to the camera had both my wife and I .

" Time-out Denisha, you're getting boob-glitter on my face. "

" Hey Crab-man, who's that pretty lady ?
Hey Earl, that's my moms.
Hey Crab-man's moms ! "

" Hey Earl, you wanna go write WASH ME on people's cars ? I already did our's. "

I love it.

Randy never broke character during the after-wedding dancing (he just kept staring at Catalina).

I was expecting Randy to do something on Young MC's line, "Come on, Fatso. And just bust a move", but oh well. Still a great episode.

Great episode. The white trash wedding plans were hilarious, right up to the wedding cake made of HoHos and Twinkies.

i've liked every episode so far, but this was the best. maybe it's because i like crabman...

that "Hey earl, Hey crabman" montage had me rolling. and when crabman put his hand on the glass of the mcdonald's playland thing (hell, i don't know what those things are called).

so many great things:

"old daddy, are you there?"

the groom on the cake, looked like it was colored with a sharpie

crabman hitting a plastic fork on a paper cup...

I cracked up when Earl let go of the balloons and they just stayed in place.

Arrested Development will be leaving us, but at least we have this hour of comedies to make up for it.

Crabman and Earl have one of the best relationships on television. And that montage proved it.

I loved every bit of this episode. Especially those above. "old daddy" and "crab-man's moms" .

Loved the pre-wedding plans. Picking out paper plates. The twinkie, ho-ho cake. Earl being the Bruce to Ashton and Demi. Every damn minute. Comedy gold.

how about Earl and Crabman trying to figure out what a "vixen" really means?

also enjoyed the hostess cupcakes and twinkies in place of the wedding cake.

and randy was in rare form tonight--he has that look down pat.
