Wow! Bunch of somewhat-gay-themed movies $4.99 (75% off) at TLAvideo's site

TLA, a video store chain in the east coast who also operate the TLA Releasing and Tartan Video studios, has a special offer right now on some gay-themed movies which are sale priced at $4.99. That is 75% off the $19.99 SRP that most of these movies are, which was in itself a reduction of the original $29.99 SRP that these movies originally were (I know cause I bought some when they were that full SRP when first released).

This is a "hidden" offer that can only be found by going to www.tlavideo.com and typing in the search box: "Instinct Movie Offer". This brings up the special offer page where you can get these movies at the special price rather than the normal site price:

CIRCUIT (unrated version)
ENDGAME
FOOD OF LOVE
P.S. YOUR CAT IS DEAD
UNDER ONE ROOF
TWO BROTHERS AND TWO OTHERS
THE NIGHT LARRY KRAMER KISSED ME
AMOR DE HOMBRE
FORGIVE AND FORGET
METROSEXUALITY

FYI- The cheapest shipping option for USA shipments is $2.00 for the 1st item and $1.00 each additional item. There seem to be unlimited quantities so you can order more than 1 of each movie. One wierd thing is no matter which of these movies you add to your cart, it is listed in the cart as "Instinct Movie Offer", so even if you get 5 different movies, it just shows up five times as the exact same description. Don't let this worry you, as after I checked out, my email receipt shows the correct movies under the exact titles I ordered. The only problem is if you add several movies to your cart and then decide you don't want one of them, it is hard to tell which movie is the right one to delete as they all have the same description, so you almost have to delete the whole cart and start over to make sure you made the right changes.

The offer expires Dec. 31st 2005, but you know how sites will pull deals early sometimes, so I wouldn't wait if you have any interest in these titles. The $4.99 price is half of DDD's sale price even after the current DDD 20% discount coupon on many of these films!

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATIONS: Oh, for non-gay viewers who wonder if any of these movies will appeal to them, I personally recommend "Metrosexuality", "Amor de Hombre", and "P.S. Your Cat Is Dead" as not-exclusively-gay releases. "Metrosexuality" was a British TV mini-series that is very multicultural and simply has diverse characters of all sexualities, kinda like "Sex In the City" meets "Queer As Folk". "Amor de Hombre" is a Spanish film about the close friendship between a gay man and straight woman, while "P.S. My Cat is Dead" is about a gay man and a straight man's New Year's Eve together. Among the more gay-specific films, I recommend "Circuit" which brings you into the world of the gay dance party culture (appeals to anyone into dance music, techno, or the rave scene), and "The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me" which is very much a respected artsy one-man performance film about the star's life journey as a gay man.

Marty, I doubt the special offer price will be valid in-store, as the normal "discounted" price on the site is much higher than on the hidden offer page. I would imagine the stores at best would have the same price shown on the normal site, but if you do check it out, let us know how it goes. Maybe they price match their site if you print out that page?
