Scary movie to watch with the gf...

Well,

She suggests we watch a scary movie together, which is a first

Now, I've been thinking about it, and I'm looking for a horror/thriller with alot of jump scenes and loads of suspense, it doesn't need to be a long story with alot of creepyness and one scary moment as I can watch those anytime.

I need one that manages to scare the living crap out of her enough, but doesn't need heeps of gore.

Sadly I've only come to Deep Blue Sea as a possible
Hey it has giant sharks constantly going after them, lots of action, and the victims get eaten, not dissected and shown every inch of their intestines. I'm not saying it's the best movie, that's the reason I'm posting this here, any suggestions???

I'm looking for scary movies that make you jump out of your seat every 5 minutes and have you in suspense the whole time.

Just thought I'd point the main line out. Oh, and NO SUBTITLES!
Just an easily "digestable" movie for me and the gf to watch

How about Final Destination? There is some blood, but it's not excessive IMHO. It's got the suspense and "jump scenes" you're looking for.

My wife was totally freaked out by the American remake of The Grudge. You know, that's a pretty effective little horror movie. Good chills and shocks.

I highly reccomend the Grudge remake as well - barely any blood at all and a ton of jump scares.

In case the OP is wondering, this has nothing to do with the previous movies, which aren't required to watch this. It's a seperate story, the sequel title is just tacked on there for marketing purposes.

In the Mouth of Madness

Candyman
- she'll be thinking about this one for days as she stares into the mirror brushing her hair thinking, and not saying-mind you, the name Candyman.

Those are the only two that consistently freak me out even though I have seen them many times.

The first Alien movie has parts that still make me jump, though I always see them coming.

Yeah, although it shouldn't be. Disc1 has the movie only, no commentary, no dts. The running time is about 100 minutes long. The features are around 45 minutes. This could've easily fit on one disc.

this is one flick I will never understand the attraction for. Just a rehash of the Sixth Sense. At least it stars Kidman who looks like a ghost in real life anyway.

You're right and I stand corrected.............Exorcist 3 will scare the living shit out of her. barely any blood and one of the most underrated (if not the most) horror films of all time.

I suggested The Others not just because it is a very good --> great scary movie, but because the OP was specifically looking for something non-gory for his girlfriend, and I've gotten the impression that because the main character is a woman and a mother, and the plot deals with her fears over protecting her children, that females (yes, i'm stereotyping) get into this kind of scary flick more than they do the slash and splatter kind.
