Ok ep, probably one of, if not the weakest so far. Not nearly enough Barney to save the laughs. The cock-a-mouse was a DUMB sidebar, and Ted still annoys the crap outta me. But it had some funny laughs, and Barney kills in every scene. Still will be back next week to see some funny!

The matchmaker bit was lame and Ted would've been slapped with a restraining order from the dermatologist in the real world. I thought the cockamouse was goofy fun though.

I agree this was the weakest so far.
The only thing that got a chuckle out of me was Barney raising his hand when Lily asked who there had asked out an engaged woman today and you could see that coming from a mile away.

Not enough Barney! The cockamouse storyline was okay. Ted's wasn't that great. The interplay between the matchmaker and Barney was funny. That's about it. They should just make this Barney's show.

I have been pretty lukewarm about this show from the start. It's just not at all the kind of show I usually watch. And this episode was exactly the reason why I have been so on the fence.
The cock-a-mouse story was ridiculously bad, and I don't find Ted to be that engaging of a character. And while I think the telling stories from the future aspect is nice because it is different, I also think that it completely takes the suspence out of all of Ted's exploits because we know who he hooks up with in the end. So, what do we care about all of these nobodies he keeps fawning over?
I'm not going to cancel my recording of this show yet. I'll give another week or so to see if I change my mind, but after last night, I'm heavily leaning toward dumping it.

I did enjoy Barney's definitions...
"Ted-out" (verb) *
-to overthink something
*also see "Ted-up"
"Ted-up" (verb)
-to overthink something with disasterous results
Example sentence: Marty "tedded-out" when...

I guess now that I think about it he referred to Lilly as Aunt Lilly in the future, too (I think). Regardless, now knowing that we don't know who the mother in question is hasn't piqued my interest any more.

I'm waiting for the day when Ted sets up two dates on the same night and has to run back and forth between each date. Unfortunately, he forgets to change his tie, and winds up getting caught.
The two dates? Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin.

It was ok. Not enough Barney and Robin though. And whoever thought of "cockamouse" should be slapped on the side of the head with a 2x4 that has "mockroach" imprinted on it.
