Dredg Concert DVD & Music Video for .01 AT BB

Just got back from Best Buy & saw this DVD (dredg-live in LA @ the henry fonda theater). It's a penny, I'm not sure if a purchase is required. The DVD has about 5 songs on it, the ones I remember are:

Ode to the Sun
Sang Real
The Tanbark is hot lava
Bug Eyes
Catch without Arms

It also has the Bug Eyes Video
There are a few interstitials between the footage & there's also a bit of interview footage. No Chapter Stops, but almost a half-hour running time!

Fuck! Thats awesome. I wish I would have known about this earlier I was by a BB today.

Can you describe the packaging? Regular case? Slip Case, CD case? What is it? Also where did you find it? The music by their CD or in the DVDs?

It's just in a cheap cardboard sleeve-the artwork is pretty cool, though.

I found it in the CD aisle, where they keep all the bestsellers, oddly enough the CD wasn't near the DVD. Then again, I'm sure each store is different.

I'm suprised I didn't read about this before, this has got to be the Best BB free disc I've received. Save for a couple advertisements for the catch without arms album, it felt like a bonafied DVD release, not some markering ploy.

actually, this site seems to self edit what isn't allowed. Don't want to turn a bargains thread into an argument for the ability to curse, but check out.

More Obscenities, Please

Even so, I think this forum would be MUCH more enjoyable and relevant if we could show a little respect for others.

They're just words, part of the English language. Come live in the 21st century with us.

I picked up the last copy of this at my BB yesterday. The cashier thought I was nuts standing in line just to pick up something for $0.01.

I got mine today too. There was a stack of the DVDs behind the Dredg CDs in the CD section. I paid my penny and left. It's a good DVD.

I was only trying to keep the conversation civil. This is supposed to be a forum to discuss DVD bargains, not insulting others. I have used this forum for years and don't appreciate the tone this thread is taking. Perhaps I should go where others are a bit more polite. I have noticed how some of you rip apart Newbies for posting an already posted bargain or asking a question that was answered previously. As far as "Joining the 21st century" goes, Just because it is 2005 does not mean manners should be out the window.

1. I went to Best Buy and did not see this free disc.

2. Does DVDTalk have a "private messages" function? I see it listed but maybe it only works for certain people (ie- mods)...which would be totally useless. Anyway, musicman's complaint would be prime material for a PM, if that system were working...but as it stands, whether his point is valid or not it's off topic. This thread is about the Dredg cd, not your choice of vocabulary.

it is "in topic" because it relates to something that was posted in this thread!

As for the swearing, I'm pretty sure it's allowed as long as it isn't directed at a specific poster. Sorry musicman, but these are not family forums. Unless you think pornography is a family event (yes, there are Adult Forums further down the list). If the language bothers you that much, leave.

I can't believe you people. I simply made a polite request to keep the language clean and you criticize ME?? I'm not the one you should be criticizing.

Don't worry. This is the LAST TIME I try to offer anything productive to this forum!!!!!!

So I realize YMMV, but are people finding this thing in the CD or DVD section? I couldn't find any today. Thanks.

I found mine in the CD section. At my Best Buy, it was where all the best-sellers are at, I think it was by some rock CD (not Dredg though).

This came out last week....and it was in the new release section last week.

Wait..maybe that's just my store because I'm from the Bay Area and Dredg is too, so we may have gotten it early?

Eh...

The two stores I've hit up didn't have them. I'm a pretty big dredg fan so I might just eBay it up. So it goes.

Just so everyone knows - this is actually supposed to be a FREE giveaway with the purchase of the CD. It should be "belly banded" with the disc, and not sitting separtely from it.

The only reason it's being sold for $.01, is because this is how the store is able to track how many they have on hand, or have given away. In order to do that, there has to be a monetary value in the system for the item - so they put in the amount of a penny. If you were to actually buy the CD (along with the DVD), that penny difernece would be discounted out of the transaction.

Lastly, Best Buy isn't the ONLY store running this promotion. I've seen it at at least three others in my area, too.
