I was wondering when karma would bring us back around to Joy.

Actually last week was "new to me".

I was initially dismissing it as a bad Nick Cage in Raising Arizona re-do when I saw the first couple minutes of the pilot while flipping channels, but decided to give it a shot two weeks ago.

I then added a season pass to it and was able to catch all of the pilot last week.

That's exactly what I did. Caught it two weeks ago for the first time and decided to add a season pass for it.

Now I'd have to say it's a good "Nick Cage in Raising Arizona re-do".

Opposite for me. I still think it is the strongest episode, and I was glad to roll on the floor laughing for a second time.

This episode may have set a new high for the series in my book.

This A-Team/B.J. and the Bear end just kicked it up another notch.

That ep had the perfect amount of Randy.

"We are a peaceful nation."

And I loved the closing sequence in bed.

The look on Randy's face while he was touching Catalina's shoulder then smelling his hand had me

I wish I could remember the exact quote, but I thought Joy's nemesis' comment about why she couldn't wear a swimsuit anymore was pretty damn funny.

The little gestures on this show are so funny, and relevatory. Catalina gets lovelier every episode. Joy is fun to watch, just because she's knows what she wants, and is willing to go to great lengths to get it. Wonder how much the hospital bills is going to be with that leg injury, ouch!

Best one yet. I agree about the little gestures and looks. I found myself laughing more at those than anything. Jason Lee can just give a look, nod or head shake and it fits so well.

The funniest thing of the whole episode wasn't even a line, it was the expression and head shake he gave when "Push It" came on and the mom/daughter were dancing across the stage to throw knives at him. It was a look as if he was in a bar just getting into the song, not strapped to a wheel about to have a knife thrown through his leg.

Brilliant.

This show is similar to Seinfeld in that the one-off characters are very funny. In the case of Earl, they are even better than the regulars. The pageant girl last nite, Giovanni Ribisi, and the crazy-eyed criminal-turned-good are all better than the regulars except for Earl and Joy. Randy and Catalina aren't very funny to me.

I don't typically find Randy very funny either, except last night when he was lip-synching and crying during Joy's "Wind Beneath My Wings" rendition.

They should submit this episode for Emmy consideration in writing. I thought it was extremely well-done.

That is a solid analogy. They need to go one step better to gain equal status in my book. Read your paragraph again. None of them have crazy names or even memorable ones. I couldn't tell you the names of any of them. They need to go into that Seinfeld realm and come up with stuff like Soup Nazi, Crazy Joe Davola, etc. It would definitely make them stand out more.

Appx.

I cant wear a swimsuit anymore because someone wouldnt come out of mommy, so I had to mutilate my body with a c-section.
