Top Ten Violent Death Scenes...

http://www.yesbutnobutyes.com/archiv...n_violent.html

I would have to add Irreversible to the list, #1, probably remove American Psycho.

american history x scene, while bad, was shown off screen right? I remember it being disturbing, but not graphically violent

American History X relied on "the mind's eye", like Reservoir Dogs and the scene mentioned from American Psycho....the list's not bad, just not very consistant.

I was going to guess that the top 5 would be from Rob Zombie's crap! I've never seen American History X.

I'm not sure I could include Scarface. Doesn't the most violent death scenes actually have to show the violence, rather than leaving it offscreen?

Some of the death scenes in Battle Royale are pretty brutal.

I'm just glad Henry was included on the list...That's one of the most disturbing films ever made.

I think it was a good number 2 but I think the scene where they film the murder of the family was much more disturbing...

A passing mention of Rocket Romano getting toxic wasted and nothing about the scene that made RoboCop become RoboCop? That scene was hideous.

The Baseball bat scene in CASINO.

Joe Pesci and his brother beaten to pulps then buried alive.

Stayed with me for weeks!

Robocop should have been in the list. Murphy's death was really graphic. The scene where ED-209 shot up that one guy in the meeting was also very graphic, especially in the unrated edition.

I would agree with that. That fire extinguisher scene was just too nasty.

I agree with the curb stomp in American History X

I recently saw High Tension, so I nominate the first death scene from it.

I like Conan hacking Thulsa Doom's head off. It's simultaneously fascist, comedic/ridiculous and just plain gross. Nicely done, Mr. Milius!

I surprised nobody has mentioned The Thing '82 yet...

There is some really graphic stuff in that.

How about John Morghen getting killed in Cannibal Ferox? Or certain scenes from various Guinea Pig movies.

Oooh I hear ya! it stayed in my head for a few days too, I'd even cringe just thinking about it.

Blade Runner - International cut.

Spoiler:
Roy Batty gouging the eye on Tyrell was pretty disturbing.

I agree. I thought of High Tension immediately when I saw the name of the article.

Irreversible was deeply disturbing. Definitely should've been on the list. It's the one movie I almost regret watching.

What about the body disposal scene in Very Bad Things, when they had a dead security guard and Asian escort girl to get rid of? And that was followed shortly by a scene where the main characters had to sort through the body parts that were wrapped up in glad bags...
