I just found another Hastings misprice, and this one is AWESOME. YMMV, of course.
Hastings prices tend to vary from store to store, but are usually in the same neighborhood. For example, that mispriced Ed Wood set would be $14.99 at one store, then $16.99 at the store down the road. Still a good bit less than the $39.99 MSRP, but not exactly constant. Expect the same with this, if it is indeed system-wide (which I suspect is the case, though I could be wrong).
I was browsing through the feature films, looking for good used deals. I'd found nothing worth buying, I was near the end of the line, and the "Happy Trails to You" song was playing, announcing that the store would be closing in 5 minutes. Another shopping night that turned up nothing. For shame. Then, I spot something that up until a month or two ago I'd never heard of. Why did it catch my eye? Because it was on somebody's list of 10 drafted DVD's. Not only that, but they were getting votes and thumbs ups because of it.
I reached down, hoping against all hopes that the price was something I could afford. Lo and behold, it was. I wasn't even certain (I assumed, due to the packaging and amount of material) that this was a misprice...but it was a no-brainer purchase regardless. I got home, jumped on Amazon, and sure enough, $89.96 new with a $99.99 retail.
Sadly, this is a B&M deal only. I just checked the website, and the set is priced at $79.96. Don't let that crush your hopes of finding it in a B&M, though...this was the same case with the MST3k Volume 6 misprice that I noticed a while back. Anyway, if you've read this far, I won't keep you in suspense any longer.
Behold:

Good luck to all, and happy shopping. Here's hoping that this is system-wide like the Ed Wood and MST3k sets.

Yeah, they're nowhere near as widespread as a Best Buy or Circuit City.

Hasting started as a local records/bookstore. Then they got into VHS rental. Their main business now is books, CD's and DVD's. They also sell computer, console and board games. You can occassionaly find used DVD's for a good price. In my experience they are usually a little higher in price on new DVD's than BB or CC.

Funny you mentioned this.... I actually saw this at my local Hastings (the movie, not the price) used. I believe the price was higher than what you got it for new. I might have to check back there and make sure it was actually used or not.

Like I said, I could be mistaken. I do remember seeing the sticker though but I have a feeling that the price was blocked and the item I saw was in front of it....it was inside a glass case. That is why I said I wasn't sure. I'll double check though.

They were marked $21.99 at mine as well, so this should be a chainwide mistake. If they get any in stock online add one to your cart and see what the price is. With the MST3K vol. 6 the price showed correct retail, but when added to the cart showed up as the lower price. I don't know if anyone got one to ship at that price, but it may be worth a try.

I don't know if anyone would do it, but if anyone can hook me up with this deal I'll hook you up with the Fletch deal. Heck, if that doesn't interest you then we'll think of something. I dn't have a Hastings anywhere near me, and I'd love to own this set.
