Most Overrated Movie Villain

Who is the most overrated movie villain of all time? Here is my shortlist of overrated baddies:

Bobba Fett: I don't get it. The dumb schmuck is just a glorified action figure.

Sauron: Just a flaming ***** on top of a ivory tower. What?

Terl: Dumb ass villain in the dumb ass Battlefield Earth, played by that dumb ass scientology cultist, John Travolta.

I'm not sure he was even a villan. He's just a bounty hunter.

Yes, if there's anything I'm sick of it's people going on and on about how great Terl is.

Hannibal Lecter --I don't really get all the hype. Watching Silence of the Lambs, I enjoy Buffalo Bill's performance so much more.

You see, here's the problem. You don't understand the history of Terl. I do.

Hush Joe, I've done research on the history of the life of Terl, I've read the books, not you.

I vote Boba Fett as well. He does have a cool suit (I'll give him that) but otherwise, he's a chump. He did absolutly nothing to earn his reputation. Vader caught Han, not him (he hid in another room while Han had his gun. He took a couple of pot shots at Luke but any average stormtrooper did that. Then he gets his butt handed to him by a blind guy.

Jack Nicholson as The Joker was absolutely abominable. Pauly Shore could have done a better acting job....Jack's Joker was about as un-menacing as stale bread.

Jack Nicholoson's Joker is probably one of the greatest villains of all time. Menacing? No, he was hilarious.

Michael Freaking Myers from Halloween!

The single most dull slasher in the history of slasher films. He barely could carry one story and somehow they managed to inflict us with 6 more.

Sauron is kind of unfair. In the literature, the embodiment of all evil can be threatening without actually appearing in the book (for the most part). It's just hard to literalize what is basically a metaphorical description for a presence that is never actually physically present in the story. Sauron was basically in the background influencing the actions of others.

What funny scenes did Jack's Joker have?
Can't be when when he shoots Jack Palance and hoots as the circus music is playing.

Commodus in Gladiator:
1. Ridiculous overacting.
2. Stereotypical villain awfulness. The guy pushes all of the creep/loser/evil buttons in such a by-the-book way that you half expect him to twirl his handlebar mustache.
3. Awful, pretentious and stock-sounding "villainous" dialogue on both sides makes him even more pathetic. Consider this exchange:
Commodus: The general who became a slave. The slave who became a gladiator. The gladiator who defied an emperor. Striking story! But now, the people want to know how the story ends. Only a famous death will do. And what could be more glorious than to challenge the Emperor himself in the great arena?
Maximus: You would fight me?
Commodus: Why not? Do you think I am afraid?
Maximus: I think you've been afraid all your life.
Arch intellectualism, blustering weakness masquerading as manliness only to be exposed by the hero. He's the condescending, vaguely homosexual European of middle America's nightmares, at least according to some Hollywood script writer. This guy is about as mature a villain as Scar in "The Lion King".

Darth Vader in Ep3?

"Where is Padme, is she safe? is she alright?"

Really made Vader sound like a little bitch.

What followed that line was a travesty. His "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!" is reason enough for me to ignore the existence of the prequels(or at least treat them like EU material). There's no way the badass Vader of Empire and the one seen at the end of ROTS are the same character.

Same can be said for stormtroupers. In Ep4, OBI 1 states that "only imperial storm troupers are so percise", but when you see them, they can't hit jack......yeah I know it's just the movies
