Harry must contend with being mysteriously selected to compete in the prestigious Triwizard Tournament, a thrilling competition that pits him against older and more experienced students from Hogwarts and two rival wizarding schools. Meanwhile, supporters of Harry's nemesis, the evil Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), send a shockwave of fear throughout the wizard community when their Dark Mark scorches the sky at the Quidditch World Cup, signaling Voldemort's return to power. But for Harry, this is not the only harrowing news causing him anxiety -- he still has yet to find a date for Hogwarts' Yule Ball dance.

She's only 15, man. Maybe you should keep the snake in the cage until the Order of the Phoenix.

Agree!

I think I may just have to get that poster of Mad Eye Moody.
Well you can put me down for the one with the whole cast, with the towers coming out of the water and the castle in the background and the one with the 2 kids from the other school and the maze in the background, kick ass!

That's a jab at HP fans? I'm a fan as I've read all 6 books and see all the films the first week.

If anything, it's a jab at the poster designer as I stand my gound that it looks like a Smallville/Dawson's Creek/Charmed-style ad.

I agree, love the books and movies, but that one poster is a horrible design.

If that's the case, I apologize. I just seem to remember about four years ago you made a post claiming that you weren't really anticipating the first HP movie and Star Wars was your only geeky pleasure next to wrestling. If you have changed, more power to you!

In terms of it looking like a WB teen drama, well, it's a movie released by WB that has a PG-13 rating, thus being aimed at teens. But that doesn't stop you from being right. Personally, I wish they would bring back Drew Struzan who did the poster for the first one; he made it look truly epic!

Highest agreement.... his art adds the "epic" tone

And while I don't remember that comment 4 years ago... the first movie did indeed convert me and I've gone back and read all 6 books since.

So you admit you were a different person back then, and you changed, for the better IMO. Good man! Now if we can just get you into LOTR....

You are right about Struzan, he even made Mallrats look epic!

I can't believe someone actually remembers a post another member made about Harry Potter 4 years ago.

I want the poster of harry, the dragon, and moody. Simply wicked awesome.

I saw the trailer for the movie at a convention and got all jittery to see the movie. Only a few more weeks! I will call in sick at work if I have to.

Thought I would ad a new HP update:

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has a running time of 156 minutes and 54 seconds, according to the British Board of Film Classification. That's a mere six seconds shy of what we reported earlier this month based on a reliable source (who apparently rounded up).

Veritaserum reports that the final 13 minutes, which contain the film's credits, are worth sitting through to get some extra laughs.

This length makes it the second longest Potter film after Chamber of Secrets, which clocked in at 161 minutes, even though the book is twice as long.

Thoughts? I am happy that they made this film a little longer than normal films, from what I have heard from fans of the book, there is a lot of material to fit it, so I am glad that they went this route.

For what it's worth, the film contains all the crucial scenes from the book:

Quidditch World Cup
Deatheaters
All three trials
Yule Ball
Voldemort

The rest was just filler.

Actually, I kind of like it that way because at times I kind of get nauseated by the phoniness of actors/actresses in their looks during movie premiere events.
