A Bronx Tale SE ????

Don't start posting and yelling at me if there are already threads on this because I don't really know how to utilize the search yet. But, I really am interested to see if there will be a SE coming out for this amazing movie. I know it's not sold in stores anymore so I am assuming there will be a new edition coming out soon. If anyone has heard anything please let me know. Bobby D is amazing as both an actor and director.

this movie does not deserve a SE. IMO, it is wayyy overrated. The voice over narrative is annoying throughout the whole movie and when Jane says "I like Italians" is just cheesy.

why does there ALWAYS have to be someone posting a negative reply? seriously, if you do not like the movie, DO NOT POST in a thread about the movie which you do not like or do not think deserves a SE. The only reason why I think it deserves a SE is to redo the sound a picture and add extras. I think De Niro did a great job for his director debut.

I actually don't consider JZ1276's reply to be negative. He/she's just giving their view on the movie. How boring would it be if everyone liked all of the same movies? I enjoy hearing alternate views.

I personally like A Bronx Tale alot. I'm glad I bought it before they took it out of stores or whatever.

I doubt an SE is in the works. The previous edition is out of print because it was never a top seller.

I would love an anamorphic remaster, but I'm not holding my breath for one in the near future.

the reason it went OOP was because HBO has started up a new distibution setup. The majority of their film titles have been taken out of print, and will be replaced in the future. Gia has already been updated, some other films like the band played on are also in need of release. It will be brought back soon enough. I'm sure they will find a new way to market it with some extra footage or what not...however don't expect the moon, because its not a top shelf film, only a catalog title.

Not at all ... "Overrated" "Annoying" and "Cheesy" are generally positive enough to be quoted in ads.

He/she's just giving their view on the movie. How boring would it be if everyone liked all of the same movies? I enjoy hearing alternate views.
Be that as it may, there is a whole seperate forum for movie discussion; this area is for discussing the DVDs, and posting "This movie you like sucks," even with reasons, is considered "thread crapping".

I bet they'll put out a better version when the next De Niro directed movie is released (some time next year).

It's been about two months, so I might as well ask now. Any new word on a new version?

I would love a featurette like "where are they now?" and see a home movie or docu. on Lillo Brancato right up until he gets life in prison!

with so much hatred towards Lillo, as well as as Anti-DeNiro thing happening because of a RUMOR (thats right, a rumor, not fact) that DNiro was going to pay for Lillo's defence, I seriously doubt this film will get one, and in fact , didnt it just go OOP?

Fun fact: This move was filmed a block away from my apt in queens. *Gasp* Not the bronx!!!

Anyway. I thought it was an all right film. I think many were disappointed because fans heard DENIRO & PESCI and assumed another film on the level of goodfellas. It definitely wasn't goodfellas and that shouldn't be held against this film. Onto the subject at hand. I'll definitely spring for a S.E.

Yeah, after hearing some of Robert DeNiro's other commentaries, that's one feature I'd rather they not include.

it might of been scrapped with all the bad press with the actor shooting a cop. I'm sure they won't let him record a commentary in prison.

"Uh, um...genius, genius actor here...he's great. Real great."

*silence for next five minutes*

"This guy, um, real good."

If anything this movie isn't appreciated enough!

Anyways, Im sure there will be a new dvd coming out when De Niro's second directorial effort The Good Shepard comes out into theaters or on DVD.

Wow. I was like, someone is asking about this again. And then I saw that it was the same thread from last year.
I myself like the movie a lot, maybe enough to get an SE if it came out with a reasonable upgrade.

Wow it's been a year already?? I'll have to say it again then. OVERRATED! If someone other then Deniro directed, it wouldve been a much better movie. However, it does at least deserve an anamorphic transfer, so a SE would be nice. Also, if anyone has a prob with me expressing my "negative thoughts" (Grndy85), take a look at the original post you made...

"But, I really am interested to see if there will be a SE coming out for this amazing movie".
"Bobby D is amazing as both an actor and director".

Grndy85...if you can post your opinions, I can post mine. BTW, never said I didnt like the movie, I do...just think some parts could have been better.
