HA! good stuff, I guess a canoe is more sensational than waders. Just shows how ridiculous the media acts in these circumstances.

I'm glad she was exposed though.

Keith Olberman was talking about this tonight on Countdown. He said the reporter was criticized at first for reporting in waist deep water then she got a canoe to report in, and was in the deep water, but I guess they wanted her to move to a more shallow area. Why the hell she just didn't stand in that area is beyond me. She stood in the waist deep water the day before, so way not the ankle deep water?

They probably told her not to stand in any flood waters period to avoid any law suits, workers comp payments, etc.

And of course she could have been in deeper water and just paddled down into the shallow water, who knows.

This was Katie Couric's jab:
"Gee, is your oar hitting ground, Michelle?"

that reminds me of the time when I was a kid on one of these amusement park boat rides at Six Flags I think. The thing stopped moving at one point, so the guy jumped into water that was barely waist deep and pushed the "boat" to get it moving again at which point I realized the thing was on tracks under the water.

for some reason canoo looks less strange to me than canoe
canoe looks like it should be pronounced "ca-know"
