Friends 10 Season best price?
Wife is a huge fan of Friends. Saw Walmart has the first two seasons for less than $20 each so it must be dropping..
DDD has it for $204. (wondering if the next 20% sale might reduce this from $204) FYE, with the Columbus Day discount, totals $201.56 including shipping and tax.
Anyone hear of any other offers?

FYE.com has a $40 mail in rebate, don't think you were factoring that into your calculations. It is 187.17(after Columbus Day coupon)+ shipping + tax - $40 MIR.
Don't know whether you would have to cut up the packaging to get it, rebate status always a little iffy with TWEC, etc.

Don't forget the $40 rebate from fye.com. So it ends up around $160, which is a pretty hot deal. I may jump on this, although my NY tax brings this up to $206 before the $40 rebate.
Edit: Looks like Mr. Chimpy beat me to the punch. And as to cutting up the packaging for the rebate, I'd probably do what I did with my Sopranos sets, which is to also buy this set at fye b&m for the price label/upc and then return it.

U''R right about the rebate. Forgot all about it!
Went ahead and did the pre-order. I can always take it back to FYE if something better comes along. All I'll lose is the $2.98 shipping!
Thanks!

$157.91 after a $40 MIR for new customers at coconuts.com - http://shop.coconuts.com/product.asp...2076&loc=41159
and free shipping as well. Sales tax not calculated into it though which brings it up to about the same as FYE, but sometimes (last time was 4th of July) they have 20% off w/free shipping which would make it $176 + tax - $40 MIR.

Would this set work with the WB TV set (6 sets/$50 MIR) rebates? I know the WB rebate goes through June 06, but if these sets are packaged differently or something it might not work, otherwise youd be looking at ~$10/season.

I mean, intuitively, just because I'm buying all 10 seasons at once in one package doesn't mean that I am not buying 10 seasons of the show. It would be totally ridiculous for WB to not honor the rebate for this set for at least the $50 rebate. But nobody seems to know for sure yet.

Guess I should have posted what I paid at FYE.com
$219.99 less $32.82 Columbus Day Discount, = $187.17 plus $2.98 shipping plus $11.41 (PA) tax = $201.56. The $40 rebate will take this down to $161.56 plus postage.
If BB or someone comes up with a better deal I'll return this to fye b&m for a $2.98 loss.
Would be great if there is another WB rebate.

It seems like it should work if its just a boxset of the pre-existing seasons + Season 10. All they ask for is a tab (D?) from each of the seasons right? If that tab changes in this set is where the problem might lie.

I thought around January or February of this year Costco had all the Friends sets (minus season 10 of course) for $19.99 each with a $10 Costco mail-in rebate on each and supposedly the Warner rebates also worked. I thought that made them almost free, but maybe it was $9.99 after all the rebates. I don't remember because I passed on it. That deal makes paying anything over $10 seem like too much, but then so did the Target $5.99 misprices that many other people got in on (not me). All I know is when I see certain things go this cheap (just like the Looney Tunes 4-DVD sets I paid $30-$40 each go for $5.99 each), it makes me reluctant to jump on almost anything at release. For those who aren't in a hurry, you might wait a while to see if there are some better Friends deals down the road.
